    yellow leaves & droopiness

This is the beauty of using hydroponic fertilizers. They are already in the broken down form. They are 100% soluble and usable by the plant right out of the bottle.

    yellow leaves & droopiness

Get some HYDROPONIC fertilizer and hydrogen peroxide. Make sure your PH is in the right range. This is simple to fix.

    ppm meter question

The manual says "If there is a flashing x10 next to the reading multiply it by ten" Google is your friend :) http://www.filterwater.com/docs/hmdigital/hmdigital-tds3-manual.pdf

Constructing a Homebrew Atomix Air-Atomized Aeroponic System

Oh, I don't know about all that. I think fatman was just a jerk. Don't need to be a scientist to be guilty of that. He just had no patience for stupid questions. Having said that, I probably gleaned more usable information from the fatman than every other post I have read combined. He...

Taking the plunge: HP Aero Drain to Waste

I have finally gotten to the stage where everything is stable and they are starting to take off. Here is what I have learned. Insulation of the pods is key. I double wrapped all of the pods top to bottom with bubble wrap type insulation. This is absolutely necessary. Triple wrapping them...

Nutrient Solution Problem. Have to change ever 4-5 Days. Flood and Drain, PleaseHelp!

I have seen the 'fish tank water' problem before in a DWC setup. My friend would turn off his circulation pump whenever he changed out his res and sometimes he would forget to plug it back in. He would call me in a panic two or three days later cuz his room smelled like an aquarium...

Taking the plunge: HP Aero Drain to Waste

they are now at 62 degrees. they like the cooler range of temps. They also like longer spray times while they are developing roots. Im sitting at about 350 ppm right now. in a day or two I will start turning up the ppms and they should take off. Will have some pics soon.

Fan Leafs. Blockers of Light Or Energy Producers? [POLL]

Buds absorb light, but not enough for net growth. They are built for consuming and storing sugars and amino acids, not producing them. I do not know why this is so hard for you to understand. This is basic botany. I can post a lot of studies, if that is what you require. This has been...

Taking the plunge: HP Aero Drain to Waste

I insulated the shit out of the pods. They are now running at 61 degrees. They are going so nicely now that I turned my chiller up from 40 to 50 degrees. I am running pretty high spray times now, 30 seconds on 2 minutes off. I will adjust my spray times down until I am at 65 degrees. Slowly...

Fan Leafs. Blockers of Light Or Energy Producers? [POLL]

The growing tips of your plants are sink tissues, and they are green. Sink tissues consume more energy than they produce. Source tissues are net exporters of energy. I'm not sure what your point is, this is basic botany.

Fan Leafs. Blockers of Light Or Energy Producers? [POLL]

Buds do not absorb light. They are sink tissues, not source tissues. You are just cutting off your buds source of energy and nutrients.

Fan Leafs. Blockers of Light Or Energy Producers? [POLL]

Buds get their energy from the shade leaves. There are two types of tissues in plants. Sink tissues and source tissues. Sink tissues are where sugars are used and stored, and source tissues are where energy (light) is converted into sugars and amino acids. Examples of sink tissues...

Taking the plunge: HP Aero Drain to Waste

Tonight I changed the sprayers from angled to straight. Now they spray straight down and not directly onto the netpot. That means that the roots now only get the floating mist. We will see what this does. My pod temperature immediately dropped by 2 1/2 degrees when I changed sprayers...

Does good drinking water mean good growing water?

Thats 350 ppm on a .7 meter. You will most likely have issues if you are growing hydroponically, but maybe not. Only one way to find out.

Taking the plunge: HP Aero Drain to Waste

Here is a plant with new roots. Root development is still slow. This is regrowth after the initial roots turned brown from 24 hours of hot hot chamber. I'm slowly, patiently chugging along. Soon as my solenoids arrive I will re-do my timings. I am thinking about going with the straight...

    T5 vs T8

Are the ones under the T8s in a drip system? Not as nice as the one under the T5 but they sure do look healthy.

Fan Leafs. Blockers of Light Or Energy Producers???

When you take leaves off you decrease photosynthesis. When you decrease photosynthesis, you decrease carbohydrate production. When you decrease carbohydrate production, you decrease yield. You can't take energy from the plant and increase growth. Energy and growth are not mutually exclusive...
