Meet Gdub51, 50 year user, two year grower, 1 year here

Hey all, I'm Gdub51. I've been using cannabis since 16 (this year is my 50th anniversary). I'm on my second grow; outdoor, large pots, white widow fem, SoCal. I have already received info here that has "saved" a harvest. Think what that was worth! I have a number of posts out there if you...

    watering when you're away

Thanks, rkymtnman, these look great too. I like how the size of the reservoir container is unlimited, extending the usefulness for longer periods but even if I moved my water tank as close as possible to the pots, I'd still need a couple hundred feet of hose though to reach everybody.

    watering when you're away

I've already found the answer that started with a suggestion by Beachcomber about spikes that attach to any plastic water bottle with the 1.1" cap. I went with the BPDOD. They were the best price and came in a pack of ten. See...

    watering when you're away

I have to go away for a week and I'm getting worried about water retention. (Outdoor in planters that are used to being watered every other day) I've seen the local pro-farmers cover their soil with plastic wrap (with a hole for the stalk of course) to hold moisture down. Ever hear of such a...

    watering when out of town

OK, I posted this in another section (plant problems) and got some good answers you can see there but this is the bomb for home growers with a half dozen plants or so: The BPDOD system, see...

Drought relief: what to do if you are absent?

Tell that to the Irvine Company. They are the corporate farmers locally that use the idea. This is SoCal, we are a desert. There is no rain or dew to consider here, esp. in August. Anyway, I've already found the answer that started with a suggestion by Beachcomber about spikes that attach to...

    yellow and bronzing continues, help

Here's one example of what about 20 min. at over 100'F. did to my grow. The whole grow spent the next 48 hours indoors and bounced right back. Second image is the same plant today, now in the 80's again. Flowers are busting out! Started kelp extract and molasses treatments this week to help...

    yellow and bronzing continues, help

I remember humidity, I used to live in Chicago. (Now SoCal.) We've had record heat, into the 100's and had to move the plants inside as I've said. I'm interested to see what the most fungus effected plants can produce now that it's controlled. The worst look like they have been very heavily...

    yellow and bronzing continues, help

I am stopping with the last app. today. Total 3 doses. Now 10 days into flower. So glad to hear it worked for you too. I'm also happy that we were able to decide on the fix after all the grief here over what we thought was wrong. Certainly would like to have been able to determine what...

    Have u ever flowered outdoors

I don't see where you describe your timing. This is a light timing issue. Sounds like you started inside and moved out without balancing the light timing. You didn't put them out too early, you put them out and didn't bring them back in to harden them off and get used to "sun timing". I bet...

    yellow and bronzing continues, help

Label says 7 to 10 day intervals and if you do the math the maximum dosage in a season is the WHOLE BOTTLE!. I did my second coat after 7 days. 1 plant is still sick but all the rest are fine. All have improved. If I just lose one or it is just limited in production I will feel lucky. Temps...

    yellow and bronzing continues, help

I hope the fungus is gone for sure as I don't like the idea of adding any minerals to the plant except potassium after flowering. I've detected a harsh edge to the smoke of bud fed after flower with chemical nutrients. I've added kelp and molasses this year in the hope these will offer some...

    Veg Time

Here in SoCal I find it's the size of the pot that determines the size of the plant as the first determinate. I'm more concerned with the timing of pruning as it weakens the plant I avoid pruning near the veg/flower shift, trying to get most of it done by solstice and almost none after setting...

    When/How Much Defoliation?

Indeed, I get all the sun that I need from dawn to dusk exposure hill top setting. I do remove lower inner leaves that get little light, weak or late secondary branch-lets and of course dead or dying leaves (now waiting for dying leaves to wilt as the advice that as long as the leaf is mostly...
