IMO I wouldn't want to mess with HID lights. I like my Lumatek. Quiet and efficient works for me. I have wired up 18 CFL'S together as a veg fixture, but haven't really tested it on a grow yet. Those ballast and aluminum wing style reflectors are way cheaper than the air cooled ones. :bigjoint:

Paint a piece of plywood with flat white paint and see for yourself how reflective it is under your HID or outside. IMO unfinished surfaces are harder to clean and could harbor pests in bare wood in the grow room. I thought about reflectix, but I'd rather use a black and white poly. :joint:

That's a Nirvana Bubblelicious grown outdoor in sunny So Cal from seed. The plant had huge calyxes. I did harvest too late though. It still tasted sweet and was really stoney. :weed:

I bought my 400 Lumatek and hydrofarm daystar ac a year ago, but haven't been able to use it, but I have tested it and it produces decent light. I guess the Lumatek models are pretty reliable so far.
