You want CFL's that are 5000k to 6500k in the light spectrum for veg. And 2000k to 3000k for flower. Its ok to mix the spectrums. But using that spectrum of light your using now wont do that well during veg.....

+1 on that. Those leaves will always die off. But you need more light. What it your lighting set up??

You could. But ive had some strains that have never germed. without dropping them in water a day or two first.. Himalayan Gold is one of those strains.......Not to mention some soils dont do well with starting seeds. Putting the seeds in water, and then into some rapid rooters or other medium...
