That sounds fine thats the general idea you can do a little at a time and see how it looks

Its ok to trim autos you just need to do it early on they respond very well to flux or other pruning

I Flux train and defoliate autos they don't mind. Defoliation definitely helps harden up and grow the lower bud sites
