Is my plant ok? Droopy a lot of the time, Dark Leaves

I think you answered you own question right there, too much N.

But they're right. If you add lime to your soil, it's going to STAY at that PH no matter what you pour into the soil, unless if you add something like aluminum sulfate to lower it. Sure I myself am adding acidic water right now to my soil, because I don't like what the lime has done, but that's...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

yeah it's hard to get used to. I was used to messing with CFLS and I could put those right on top of the leaves no problem. What I don't get is there's really not a lot of heat coming from the philips either, so you'd think you'd be able to get them really close which isn't the case.

fox farms ocean forest WARNING !

I'ven been starting my seedlings in dr earth, and they look great. Once I move them over to FFOF they start getting N toxicity every time.

fox farms ocean forest WARNING !

Actually I think the water makes it worse, starts releasing all that N in the soil. Wait as long as you can between watering.

Yeah I have some aluminum sulfate on order, but in the meantime I'm just doing as you did, giving them around 4 or 5 PH and they seem to be doing better with the compensation.

good info here. I think the biggest mistake one can make is adding lime to a premade mix like FF. I did that and regret it. My plants are just not happy at 7 and there's really no way to adjust it. I know that goes against what experienced growers here say, but that's just my own experience.

Help upside down canoing and looks weak

I think it's the FF soil. I'm finding it to be pretty hot myself. 3 weeks in and it's finally doing better I think as the N is depleted from the soil. My older leaves are dark as can be.

Get one of these, and rig it with a bunch of activated carbon inside, works surprisingly well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000DK35B/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

what's up with more red than blue?

I know what you're saying. But in my own tests I've done in vegging, my Philips 2700k LED Bulbs 11w(2 of them) had the same growth as 2 CFL 13W 6500k bulbs, and the Philips plants looked healthier. Granted I think the philips I'm using leak more blue than the usual 2700k, but surely the 6500k...

what's up with more red than blue?

I'm pretty sure those whites he's recommending contain a lot of blue spectrum in them.

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

That was me, and that's the one I tore open, the 830 lumen ones. I'm pretty sure the 10.5's don't have those luxeon led's.

Yeah I'd be interested to see what's inside of those 10.5 round ones.

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Well I bought some of the newer 11w bulbs that look identical to the earlier 11w bulb, and the newer ones say higher lumens. They say 880 as opposed to 830. Inside of those were completely different LED's. Then I did a side by side comparison, and the 830 was brighter and the colors it produced...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Yep those are the ones I'm talking about. The reason I like those the best is the phosphor can be removed to make it a blue light for veg, and replaced for flower. And they have the luxeon blue led's. The other bulb you're talking about is the only 10-11 watt bulb I haven't torn down, but those...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

If you can, get the Philips 11 watt ones that say 830 lumens, those are the best by far. They've gone cheap on the newer ones, like Cree.
