    If it is inside the windings you may not see it right away, and the ballast is bad. If it smoked up then you should be able to find it, feel around and look for smut on your fingers.

    Nope. Amps is what it can draw, you might have a 30amp circuit in your car at 12 volts. Dryer is prob a 30amp circuit. Look on the breaker that feeds it.
