14w LED - Good For Nothing???

The led e27/g10/ect bulbs have the drivers built in. If the true watted (what's used) isn't listed expect it to be 1/3-1/2 of the listed wattage. The 14w panel "might" grow lettuces/herbs? I think I saw a video were a 21w-ish grow some lettuces.

14w LED - Good For Nothing???

They say 9/12/ect watt but they really only do 2-4w. 9/12/ect watt worth of leds but drivers are much much lower.

LED bulb on eBay, any good?

It's only 5.8 Watts for $25+ that's $4~/watt not good at all. If you have a heatsink (like an old CPU) I would suggest something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181164742072?var=480272425249&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 their easy to make just need alittle thermal...

Does adding CFL to red/blue leds hurt the PAR?

I'm sure the cree version is better but it's like 50% higher cost :/ seeing how I could use 2-3 the cost would add up. $6 - 50w multi chip $13 - driver? http://www.ebay.com/itm/50W-Watt-High-Power-LED-Driver-AC85V-265V-50-60HZ-Waterproof-/160927171811?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item257801c4e3...

Does adding CFL to red/blue leds hurt the PAR?

Thanks. I just set up the CFL's seems to be about the right amount of light but at some point I'd like to replace them with 20-50w COB's just got to find a place that sells them.

Does adding CFL to red/blue leds hurt the PAR?

Thinking of doing half the total wattage in led (red/blue) and half with CFL's would the white wavelength from the cfl's mess up the whole PAR thing? It wouldn't have the pinkish light I see (just about) everyone else doing but it (the red/blue wavelengths) should still be there right? just...

Newbie question: what cree chips should I be useing?

I've been doing some research (gong build my own led grow light) and most people seem to agree Cree leds are the best (because they have the best lm/w?) but there are many different type's/series and I can't find a use this -> "one" for grow lights. Near every guide/diy I've read uses a...
