The HLG-185 will run 4 COBS, but not at 1400ma. They can supply the voltage to do so but not the power output. P = VI, so 72v * 4 = 288v (they can supply up to 400 odd), but you need to consider the max power rating, which is 185w (in reality you it to be 70-75% of that so 135 ideally)...

If it's going to be run 18/6 or even 12/12 I'd put fuses on both lines at the very least, maybe even some extra over current protection if the fuses aren't fast enough. If it does work, even under extensive testing, I personally wouldn't trust that it will every time, but I'm a bit of a scardy...
