Arduino Controlled Grow and PC Program - Work In Progress

I don't completely understand the inline adjective used in your post, but assuming you have a motor, and there is a power supply (the part that contains the capacitor) then a relay could potentially meter out the current after the power supply. Usually when a capacitor is significant it's used...

Arduino Controlled Grow and PC Program - Work In Progress

No it's not much room, but I don't need much medicine just for myself. Many strains can produce 500gr/sq meter, if you know what you're doing (which I don't BTW). If I could get yields like that it would be way more than I need. I just thought the two lights would be a way to ramp up the...

Arduino Controlled Grow and PC Program - Work In Progress

Would PWM work to control the fan speed? Assuming a relay is controlling the fan, the fan only gets power for half the time? I'm no electronic whiz but why do you think this would blow the capacitor?

Arduino Controlled Grow and PC Program - Work In Progress

Haven't had time to read the whole thread but... Exciting to find someone else using an arduino in a grow room! I'm currently building my room, I have a few arduinos and I been programming for years (php, perl, c++ basic) I plan on growing organic so mostly for me the arduino will maintain the...

MH Bulb orientation is it dangerous??

Quick question for those experienced with Metal Halide bulbs. I have some bulbs that are base up orientation, the specs say that they can go as much as 15 degrees off vertical. If I use these bulbs sideways will they blow up or anything or is it just that it will reduce the output and life...

Soil Food Web Gardening with Compost Teas

Thanks blueJ, no I have no other use for it, but just to clarify I plan to use it to brew worm(worm castings) and compost tea. I'll get into a worm bin next spring and buy castings in the mean time. I live near the ocean so harvesting some sea weed is also quite possible. If I use sea weed...

Soil Food Web Gardening with Compost Teas

Hi all, I'm a noob and reading reading reading. I'm just throwing a quick question out there about making compost tea and doubt that it has been asked before or at least it's not one of those 'asked a thousand times noobie questions'. I was give a rather large ultrasonic cleaner that was used...

Yes these are clear plastic, I thought about painting them white. If I had to guess I would paint the outside. What would you recommend? doodle

Newbie question about Metal Halide reflector

Hi All, I'm new to the community and planning my first grow. I was going to use CFL lighting but I lucked into some 320W metal halide lamps removed from a warehouse, reportedly they only have 300 hours on the bulbs and some new bulbs were included. My question is about the reflectors that came...
