Cold weather grow....and yes, first time

The AK 48 lived up to its name: flowering in 48 days, but I harvested a few days before. Accordingly (from our patients) it was nonetheless helpful for glaucoma, anxiety, spasms and pain. Quick harvest, but the yield was small - just a tad over 1 oz. Will continue to grow... Did not cure...

Cold weather grow....and yes, first time

Interesting. I assume you have been successfully doing this and your yield has consequently been greater, eh? Thanks again for the advise.

Cold weather grow....and yes, first time

Thanks Tilemaster. Never heard of super cropping before, so, off to the internet and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1YEc7ENd5E Is this the idea? Not sure if the bent over branches are still alive?

Cold weather grow....and yes, first time

One other thing of note, is that I am using FoxFarm Open Sesame and Beastie Bloom during the flowering stage. I cut after 6 weeks (probably prematurely) about 1/2 of the AK48 since the stigmas were mostly amber. The small buds dried in about 3 days and are now in a mason jar - about a week now.

Cold weather grow....and yes, first time

Thanks for stopping in and I welcome your comments. I have two HPS (400w) lamps in the flowering room now. Those stetchy looking plants are the sativa version of super skunk and blueberry. I have another blueberry (bud photo) that is not so tall, so I am thinking that the seed of the taller...

Cold weather grow....and yes, first time

It is just about time (I think) to harvest some of these lovely gals. I tried using a pocket microscopes (60 - 100x) to see the color of the trichomes, but could not hold it steady enough. My challenge is, since I do not use the product, is to know what is the optimal to harvest for various...

Oh no! Did I get it out in time?

Ugh...I pray that the pollen sacs did not open.

Oh no! Did I get it out in time?

Everyone, thanks for all the input. So GoldenGanja, the ones that might have gotten pollinated would start to swell and turn amber sooner than the non-pollinated ones?

Cold weather grow....and yes, first time

These plants are growing higher than I thought. The height of my light is maxed (6'), and the blueberry is the same height, so I put it in the corner, but...not sure how it will grow now. The second surprise is that I had a hermie in the flowering room, and didn't know it until today. I...

Oh no! Did I get it out in time?

Do they turn brown? Or stay white until seeds form?

Oh no! Did I get it out in time?

When I saw the first signs of a white pistil-looking hair, I thought this was a female plant and promptly put it into the flowering room. But today I just noticed that it is not what I had thought. It is either a male or hermie - not sure. It was in the flowering room (12/12) for a week...

    Nirvana A++ shipping again.

I must make amends to my prior post regarding the quality of Nirvana's seeds. Nirvana did send me replacement seeds (5) for the one bad one I got. No questions asked. Also, it looks like 2 of the 5 Big Buds were girls. Seems Big Bud takes a long time to show its sex. The other feminized...

    Feminized PPP = male

Zigzag - Your experience is probably what typically occurs. No doubt an honest mistake in my case. I just now received 5 feminized PPP replacements from Nirvana as promised. Alice rocks!

    Feminized PPP = male

According to this site a feminized seed produces genetically female plants, no Y chromosomes involved: http://www.feminizedseed.com/ A quote from Babygro (5/2007): "Feminised seeds are produced from a genetic female plant that has had one or more of it's branches treated with hormones, this...

    Feminized PPP = male

Alice, from Nirvana, responded to my e-mail regarding the male feminized PPP and offered to send me 5 more - said it will never happen again. NIce gesture. Looks like Nirvana stands behind their souvenirs. whulkamania: you are miles ahead of me. My education is limited to vicarious...

Uh, yeah. I am sure you have learned much in your growing education, eh?

    Feminized PPP = male

Of course these seed companies don't want anyone to purchase their product unless it is for educational or souvenir purposes. I am certainly in for higher educational purposes...aren't we all? But my souvenir wasn't what it was cracked up to be.

    Feminized PPP = male

Nirvana's (as well as AMJ) seeds were labeled on a generic package, but not like the kind of packaging you get from Attitude, which sends you the original breeder's packaging - I think. So, i guess it is hard to know where the seeds really came from...and if Nirvana only sold seeds as a novelty...

    Feminized PPP = male

Tom_420, thanks for confirming my suspicions - shit happens. I wrote to Nirvana just to see if "Alice" would reply, but alas, nothing yet. All of the other feminized seeds I have gotten (Nirvana and elsewhere) have been girls.
