Hey I can exactly figure out want was wrong with my plant and I was wondering if someone could help.

So I'm in the vegetation stage stage and I'm getting ready for my first feeding. But I'm really confused on how much of the water to give the plant, do i give it the whole gallon or just until the soil is moist and i see a little run off. Any help would be great thanks
