Just switched out the soil to address the root rot. I just put pieces of banana on the top layer of soil without blending it. The pieces of banana started to cause the formation of the fungus. Should I remove the top layer of cocoa with the banana pieces and fungus or remove it? Other than that...

The bottle cap was just to straighten it out a little, it has a strong base. Just concerned with the white fungus growing on top. I had someone tell me it’s saprophytic Fungus. It’s said to be harmless and actually beneficial but I’m just double checking if it is actually that/

No it’s just a cap holding it up so it’s not slouching

I saw that my plant was had leaves wilting at the bottom and I read potassium helps so I mashed banana’s and put it in the soil. It ended up forming these white fungal spots on the top of the soil. Some say it’s good and some say it’s bad. Please advice!!
