Yep, like moto said, cover the top of your rw and ensure adequate ventilation. I use rw in net pots with hydroton on bottom, top and sides. LOTS of air movement/exchange in my grow. I've not had any algae issues with this setup.

Anyone know of any Colorado or Denver-specific MJ discussion groups or forums? Of course, I love RIU! I'd just like to occasionally discuss local issues and possibly meet up and smoke with other like-minded CO peeps. :peace::joint:

I think your space is definitely on the small side for a 1000w mh. You'll need a pretty kicka$$ exhaust system to cool that light in such small space.
