I work at a growing media facility and I can honestly (at least at our plant) say the materials used for the lower end topsoil will vary. The mid tier topsoil will normally consist of compost.

Are you referring to a bag of topsoil or to a bag of soil that contains "topsoil"? Either way, as someone else mentioned not all topsoil is the same. Even within the same brand, the ingredients will vary from region to region.

I've had some legitimate success when mixing coco, peat, perlite, aged bark fines and compost together....but to each their own.

I had it labeled as "Ripple Mountain Pie" which is an Auto Fem from Happybirdseeds. Yet it looks nothing like it's "sister". I'm leaning towards it being Swarley's Kona Gold or Pineapple Doc OG. 'Ripple Mountain Pie' is: Skywalker OG Auto (Barney's Farm) x Gelato Auto
