    Carbon filters...life span and refurbishing?

I'm seriously considering doing the same thing, my carbon filter is a failry standard cannister type filter... I'll see if I can gently 'bust' the top off and see if it's viable to refill it duct tape it back up and re-use it!

    Carbon filters...life span and refurbishing?

Interesting, it's a bit of a minefield buying a filter, it seems, hence my interest in buying one that can be re-filled, as they are not exactly cheap for a tiny tent like mine! At least then the filter is only as good as the carbon granuels/pellets it's re-filled with, just seems a bit of a...

    Carbon filters...life span and refurbishing?

Well thats the thing, I cant detect the smell very well, as I get accustomed to it! I only do 3 or 4 plants at a time, and vent into the loft above the grow room.

    Carbon filters...life span and refurbishing?

I've got a 6" electronically commutated extractor fan (inline), so I'm good on that front; https://drgreens.co.uk/product/mammoth-juiced-ec-fans/ Filter I think is this one, but it's over 12 months old now, only one grow, though...

    Carbon filters...life span and refurbishing?

One more question, I'm currently set up like the pic on the left, but to make more space in the tent, I want to swap it round like the pic on the right.. Anyone have opinions on this? I can't see it would make any difference to filtration?

    Carbon filters...life span and refurbishing?

I've got a standard canister type filter purely for exhaust smell, it's oversized for my space 1x1x1.2 but I'm consious I'll need to replace it, but I'm desensitized to the smell! Replacing them every year or two gets expensive, are there any that are servicable/re-fillable? Also any good way...

    Soil grower. Convince me.

Lovely pic, looks awesome! bUT... changing out buckets of water with finding a way to support plants while bucket change etc. You can just use a hose and a pump to drain out the rez, and flip it backwards to re-fill...you can just leave the plants in situ. That's what I do..I have a bath tub...

    What nutes is everyone using?

I guess most people here are US/CA, so maybe no rellevant, but I use Shogun ferts in the UK, mostly as they are widley available but... ..they do ferts for hard water and soft water (plus or minus cal-mag I guess), and also different ferts for hydro/coco/soil...

Why twisting on the new growth?

Thats fine. Not too dry, not too wet. Maybe a tiny bit too humid but it's all about keeping it in a sensible range rather than going crazy chasing a number. When you start budding you might want to lower a little bit more, depending on how thic your buds are, but don't over think it,. More...

Why twisting on the new growth?

yeah that's like 18c at night which is fine, it's the humidity you need to keep an eye on. There's nothing wrong visually with those plants, they are plants, they dont grow in perfect symetry. The biggest problem for new growers is thinking too much and doing drastic things that make it worse.

Why twisting on the new growth?

Yes, but keep an eye on humidity, as the plants get bigger they will produce some humidity. What I did was put my fans on a cheap timer, the ones that have 15min segments, so you can have it 100% on during lights on, and then stagger it on/off as needed during lights out.

What do I place my plant in while cleaning my DWC every week?

Don't over think it, when the plants are so small they are not going to dry out in an hour, just make sure you don't disturb the roots if you can help it. When the plants are much bigger in DWC, in a shared rez, you can't pull them out without causing a lot of stress and damage to the roots...

    What kind slug is this?

First of all, congratulations on getting a slug into a Hydrophonic set-up. It looks a little bit like a leech rather than a slug, though. I have more questions than answers at this stage, lol! bongsmilie

Aeroponics light leak, air flow, pathogen control?

I use a pre-emptive maitnenence dose of hydrogen peroxide every week or so into the water, as it breaks down into hydrogen and oxygen after a while. For root plugs I use https://www.hydrodynamicsintl.com/root-riot-plant-starter-cubes-guide/ which I quess is the same thing as rapid rooters?

    Cooling a room.

Then refit with LED lights... they use a lot less power and give off so little heat you'll be worried about getting too cold rather than too hot.
