I am looking for some help with my first grow. I put these plants into flowering 8 days ago and I am having trouble figuring out the sex of the plants. I know its still early but i guess i'm just an excitable first-grower and i'm anxious to know. Anybody who wants to take a look at my plant pics...

I have four plants that I started flowering at 16" and now they are still growing well, but I am running out of room fast. Can I trim the plant or should I tie it down as many people have suggested and if i tie it down how exactly do i do that? Thanks

the plants are still in veg. they are all about 12 inches tall and this is my first grow but i've heard i should wait for 18-20 inches before changing the light cycle for flowering

Here are some pics of my tiny grow setup. Any constructive criticism would be much appreciated. Bulb is 70w high pressure sodium. Seeds are an unknown strain that my buddy gave me.

I have been doing a lot of research about how many lumens per square foot are necessary. I have read that 2000-4000 is best and also 8000 - 10000. How much light can a plant take in without just wasting unnecessary lumens/electricity?

HTG has a 150 watt HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM (HPS) GROW LIGHT that produces 16,000 lumens. In a 4 ft^2 area, that would be 4,000 lumens per ft^2. Isn't that about twice as much as I need?

I am doing my first grow and I have four plants each in a 12x12 bucket. They take up 4 ft^2 and I am only running two 23 watt compact fluorescent bulbs for the entire area. They are 8 weeks old and only about 9 inches high. Do I need a lot more light or what? I'm kind of a energy...
