ok guys ill try to keep it short b/c huge walls of text suck! i have a 12 gallon(only use 10) dwc res with two airstones, ph 5.8-6.5. My ppm meter needs batteries but im at about 1/2 a teaspoon per gallon(seems to be working ok). These plants are about a month old and have been through alot...

yea man you def need to get those lights closer and cover that hole if your not using it bc it will lead to alge grwoth

it looked like he just wired the light socket to a regular power cord, i was under the impression that a HID light required a ballast, do lower wattage HID bulbs not require a ballast?

what the max light size that can be used in this design without requiring a ballast?

man i have the exact same problem, my girls were doing great and them the day i changed the res to my straight tap water(not ph balanced) and my roots turned brown and alge grew in the tank immediately, the growth stopped right along with my heart right when i saw the damage, just got 9 gallons...

nice, mine are about half the size of yours and are something like 18 days but that is due to a constant heat problem i had for the first week and a half

im trying a hydro grow myself but i cant find any place to buy the right things like hydrotron balls or a rockwool cubes? i know i could find them on the internet but i dont want to resort to that yet
