My plants have been in flower for a while but all i really have is a ton of white hairs and nothing that looks like a bud and some of the hairs are starting to turn red, did i do something wrong and im not gonna get bud or is this normal?

I've got some plants growing in my closet and my friends were over one day and saw the light coming out a little bit. I didnt have a good excuse for it does anyone have a good excuse for not showing them whatever is in my closet or what you say to your friends if they become curious?

Im using florescent lights to grow until ill be able to afford a hps light but i switched the plants over to 12/12 a week ago and i was wondering when i should be able to start to tell the sex, there is nothing showing yet at the internodes.
