    Second build ventilation help.

Hey Bosco, thanks for the reply. The air temperature is between 65-68 degrees where the box will be kept. The four 6" intake holes will be about 4" off the ground. When I was getting the 100+ temperatures, the thermometer was on the lid of the bubble bucket with the hps light 4" from it...

    Second build ventilation help.

HI all, last year I bought a prefabbed cabinet from homedepot to turn it into a dual chamber grow box. *Each side measure 2'w 3'd and 5' h. *I tried putting a 400w hps light in with four 6" passive intake holes and 6" vortex fan. *Unfortunately temps where in the 110s after only an hour. *So I...

    First attempt, not so good.

I presoaked the rockwool and the rocks. So did I place the water tube to close to the rockwool? I defiantly want to try again, next time should I have the tube shorter, delivering water to the rocks?

    First attempt, not so good.

The water was distilled, I used a PPM meter to mesure the PPM. I don't think it's algea on the rock wool. It's not slimy or anything like that. I had the water feeding tube right against the rockwool, was this the problem? The water line was 2 inchs below the grow cups, I did notice with all...

    First attempt, not so good.

Could you explain too much moisture? In Rosemann's bubbleponic tutorial, he has a tube feeding water into the grow cup. That's what I thought I was doing. But the too much moisture, kind of makes since, because even after two weeks only one plant grow a root that stuck out of the rockwool...

    First attempt, not so good.

Long time smoker, first time grower. Built a grow cabinet, researched the crap out of growing, and unfortunately it didn't turn out to well. After two weeks in my cab with 8 42w 200w equivalent CLF bulb's and a PH of 5.8, and PPM at 400, this is what my plant look like. Where did I go wrong...

Did I get the right nutes? Also PPM help.

Dude face you rock!!! That's the simplest way I've ever heard it explained. So basically aim for around 250ppm early stage, around 500 mid, and 950 end veg or bloom, then. Thanks again.

Did I get the right nutes? Also PPM help.

Been doing reading, haven't gotten a PPM meter yet, but want to get one. I thought in different phases of growth the plant needs different amounts of nutrients, I.E. more nitrogen, potassium, or what ever. I've read that most people when going by the N-P-K will go 20-5-5 for veg, and 10-30-10...

Did I get the right nutes? Also PPM help.

Went to the hydro shop and got Flora Nova Grow 7-4-10 for my vegetative stage and Flora Nova Bloom 4-8-7 for my flower stage. Would these work to grow in hydroponic? Also how does a ppm meter work? I know that's a better way of measuring plant nutrition. I get the principle that it measures...

    It's getting hot in here.

I got an inline for my flower side with a 400w hps. Thought I'd try to save some electricty by using the cfls and pc fans for veg. side. I guess I should just stop overthinking this and just do it then. My house has such crappy insulation that I'm almost sure the dropping temps will off set...

    It's getting hot in here.

That's what I thought, the worst thing is the amount I spent on the pc fan's is the same as a 4" inline fan. I guess you live and learn. Right now I'm getting 90 at the canopy level, and temperatures in this region are going to be dropping 5-10 degrees in the next few weeks. I'm thinking...

    It's getting hot in here.

Ok so for a couple of days I've been trying different fan configurations. I even tried using the fan's for the intake instead of the exhaust, with no change. That's when it occurred to me I'm leaving the thermometer right under the lights about 2''. I then moved the thermometer around the...

Picture update, it's still to hot. Any ideas? If I did get a inline fan would it best to exhaust the light or room? Thanks.

    It's getting hot in here.

So if I got an inline fan, would it be best to just use the fan to straight exhaust the heat from the hood out side the cab? I could do that and use the four pc fans up top for cooling? What would be the best thing? I'm not relay trying to drill to many holes in the cab.

    It's getting hot in here.

Yes the cabinet is air tight. I drilled 4, 5" holes at the bottom for the passive intake. would I replace each fan with a duct boster? Or would I use it light hood to ducting to duct booster to exhast the heat directly from the light and maybe keep the four exhaust fans up top for general...

So I built this grow cab each side is 4' high 2' wide and 2' deep. It stay's about 81 degrees F. with no light on, with light on it get's to 93 degree's F. I've got 8 41W CFL's, each one is supposed to be 200W equivalents. The lights are in my custom box with two fans up top and two on the...

    DIY light reflector links anyone?

Hi, been searching the form for some DIY light reflector builds, and unfortunately can't seem to find any. Just figured out how to wire lights together, thanks :weed:, built a wood box to mount them on and want to build a good reflector to feed my baby's. Anyone know any build links., thanks...

    Is this safe?

I used those plug in sockets already, the bulbs are way to heavy. I then tried to use plastic zip ties to hold the bulb, but the heat stretched it. Plus I have it hanging from a chain and the power strip isn't evenly balanced so that moves to much. Custom box is the only option, but not...

    Is this safe?

The box I'm making have 8 42watt CFL's, which is 336 watts. I hooked those up to one 16 gauge cord rated at 13 Amps-125v, and 1625 max watts.

    Is this safe?

So instead of hooking the wire I should jut loop it around the screw? I thought about the vanity strip but the width of my light box needs to be less then 24". Thanks.
