Sealed Tent, Living Soil & The Quest For Fire

Update Did a little canopy clean up over the past few days and snapped a trellis net down. The bed is full enough and I don’t know how much these plants are going to stretch, so they are getting flipped this weekend, before things get out of hand. I didn’t end up topping the plants again, so...

    Localized Finish

The growth still pushing white hairs is likely receiving less light, which is therefore less developed. If the upper branches are done, I would chop the growth that is finished and leave the less developed buds for another week or two to receive more light. Probably won’t affect yield much at...

I heard they’re still trimming up to this day…

Heres a fun one, what the most trichome covered bud youve grown?

I grew out some Unicorn Meat freebies by Thug Pug Genetics. They were pretty frosty.

    Green mulch with sunn hemp

I do this with my cover crop/companion planting in a large garden bed. It is a great soil building practice. If you wanted to maximize the value of the addition of the green manure/mulch, I might suggest covering the green mulch with some sort of brown mulch like straw or leaves. From Google…...

Sealed Tent, Living Soil & The Quest For Fire

I typically take pH readings at 6-8 different locations in my 3’x 6’ garden bed. I do this because as shown in the photos above, there is still a pH range (6.1 - 6.5) depending on where the soil was tested. If I decide to add any additional soil sulfur, I’ll know where more (if any) is needed.

Sealed Tent, Living Soil & The Quest For Fire

If you are referring to plants that are naturally l growing in the outdoor environment (native plants), I would argue that those plants have adapted to whatever environment/climatic conditions that are present at the time. Also, plants typically have a preferred pH range which can be as much as...

Sealed Tent, Living Soil & The Quest For Fire

Training Pics Before After I didn’t pinch any tops yet because I want the plants to stretch out a little more and fill up the bed. I’ll pinch tops when the bed is mostly covered, then another 7-10 days until flip.

Sealed Tent, Living Soil & The Quest For Fire

I used to believe the same thing when I first started into living soil, because that was what everyone was saying about living soil and organic growing at the time. A lot still do. Including the guy who I modeled when I first started, who goes by MountainOrganics on IG. But pH influences...

Sealed Tent, Living Soil & The Quest For Fire

Vegetative Update Plants have taken well to their training and are branching out. I will train them down once more by the end of the weekend, and likely top the most dominant branches. After the next round of training, I’ll give the plants about another 7-10 days, before I throw a...

    Long Term Mother Care

Sorry there’s way too much to try to reply to. Check out Bloom Seed Co if you haven’t already. A lot of their strains are bred for terpenes and hash. Like most of them. I’ve also heard and read great reviews about how their strains are great for hash, including rosin pressing. There are a ton...

WHAT'S WRONG WITH GOOD OLD STEER MANURE?

It’s pretty salty when added by itself. High in K, Na, Mg, Cl. But I think when it’s appropriate nowadays is when it’s one part of a compost mix. I think the beneficial microbiology is what manure can be a great additive for. Aged manure can be used as top dressing or cultivated in. But if I...

    Organic Vs. Synthetic Nutrients

Any recent study done on the affects of soil microbiology on secondary metabolite production would disagree with the “moot” argument including the mass study review posted directly above your comment. The pathways of mineral uptake and what minerals get taken up differ from an organic grow to a...

    Long Term Mother Care

Not to derail your thread, but there are many clones out there that have been around for decades. Like 20-30+ years. This wouldn’t be the case if everything degraded significantly with every new gen of cloning. Sour D, OG Kush, and Blue Dream are all about 30+ years old. People would not keep...

    New Migro Lights?

I don’t know if you watched the vid or not, but Shane danced around being called out for intentionally misleading people, only addresses the component mixup as an “oops my bad”, and then completely ignores the subject of the guy he ghosted and blocked who was asking about which components came...

    New Migro Lights?

I totally get that, lol :fire:. I usually only call people out when they have been disrespectful, unpleasant or are spouting some BS. Otherwise I usually try to keep the peace. Also, people who make calls to authority because of XYZ reasons. Like light manufacturers who think they know more than...

    New Migro Lights?

The story; there was this Agronomist on IG who goes by the name SlowNickel, who had just started talking about light spectrums (which is well outside of his lane of knowledge). This was a few years ago. He was talking about the benefits of Far Red and blah blah blah, basically citing a Bugbee...
