Basically, 5 days ago I put my seed into soil (Root Tap Showing) and still nothing has spurted yet, HELP!

I put my seed in soil basically as soon as the seed split,how long will it take to see it come through? Does this process also have to be under lights?

Ok I'm new to this and have got a tent with a 400w bulb and with a 4" extractor fan, the room temp is around 85 and the tent is also around 85 with no lights on, I know I need another fan but how strong in CFM?
