The only issue I see is in vertical growing don't you want a more round shape to have equal coverage around your light? Perhaps use 2 foot sections and make a hexagon around it maybe? Unless you are using a wall of lights... I really want to try vertical, I think its got potential

it isn't necessarily bad to have blue spectrum bulbs during flowers, but just make sure the majority are 2700ks. I think it is better to have a fuller spectrum of lights because the plant is still absorbing both spectrum of light. But that's just my opinion...

The question of light dispersion vs penetration. The higher wattage bulbs are less efficient, but will have slightly better penetration.. They also cost more per watt. If you are going scrog, you probably want a "wall of light" I prefer 42w for a not too expensive but still relatively bright...

Here is the scoop on plexiglass: It will absorb up to 8% of your light, and it has a melting point of 320F. I would NOT use it for anything but CFLs, and even then you need adequate ventilation. And as for warping, if it got close to melting it would sag down, causing more light dispersion...
