    CXB3590 1500W

Hi supra. Cool to see that you have taken the next step to the cxb3590. But why don't I see any reflectors on your new build? I could have missed some posts, began reading but 100+ pages is a lot in a few weeks...

DiY LED Grow Lights with CREE CXA3070 COBs and CPU Coolers

on the picture: the led on top is 5000K, the other one is 2700K. I use 5000K and 3000K, the only difference is the colour of the yellow.

Close blue? No one here wants to slow down I think. You could try giving the plants less light.

malfunction of my timer. Cheap stuff. But cool to hear that you "tried" it also. Did it had any effect of flowering time and did it had any effect on your harvest? Are plants still in flower-mode or are they in Veg-mode?

    The far red thread

I just tried 730nm allways, in the beginning of week 6 (2 weeks before harvest). Have seen very much stretch, plants which grow continously. I did not know that 730 nm was on, bummer. Will plants go back to flower and how long would it take to harvest? Does anyone has an idea?

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

I did some "testing".....I had one 3070 5000K in a propagator, without a fan so just using the heatsink of the alpine (needed asap some light for a week or so). Running @1.4A (50 watts) the top layer of the led broke but it still works. Temperature in the propagator was about 22 degrees.

The reason behind some calculatioins is often not my strongest point....but I will remember it. Thanks for explaining it to me. Edited my former post: the 36% is the Osram I was referring to, you were referring to the ledengin.

Still expensive, but easy to build yourselves. How did you calculate 28%, they state 36% in the datasheet. -edit: ooops..36% is the Osram. 28% is the LZR from Ledengin.

I was wondering about the flower initiator. According to the man that sells them: http://growlightsource.com/products/the-flower-initiator-and-booster-grow-lights/, one 20 watt light (730 nm) is good for 16' x 16' = 0.16 meters. For 1 square meter you need 6.25 of those 20 watt leds, 125 watts...

In the Vipar LED thread the efficiency of the deep red epileds was mentioned: 7.2% @350ma and 25C. Very low. Alternative is the Osram SSL 80 730 nm has an efficiency of 36% (according to their own data). Mouser does not have them on stock, Led tech does...
