I am no expert (or I would not be askin' questions) But it is my impression you want more lower spectrum for flowering than in veg. 6500K should make them grow and when you switch to 12/12 the 2700K is more like the weaker sun in the fall making them flower. I do believe mixed spectrum is better...

Thanks for the reply ST. Yea I just could not figure out the 'set in stone' spectrum that I have seen here and other places with CFL's. I was doing my best to replicate (under my own control finally) the kinda light conditions I used to go by with the seasons. Of course a box in the basement...
