so i have been growing outdoors for a looong time!like 15+ years...always had great results...well almost always!lol
i have done like 10-12 runs in the last 2 years and just cannot hit the yields i want,im getting like 9-10 ounces from a 1k light.
my buds dont really seem to fill in all the way, there are always gaps between the buds and i never get those long running colas im looking for.i usually grow in 5-10 gallon grow bags and have used flora nova and flora series nutes with no boosters.i feed 1 feed ,2 waterings.but my pots dont always dry out fast enough and i can only feed like once every 10 days,i think this may be the reason, but im not sure.
can you guys help me bump up my yield?im good at fimming, topping and training so its not that, its the lack of full buds

So, many questions. No pictures. Your blooms could be to die for, and you are just bragging. :) Indoor and outdoor cannot be compare. And GM nutes are shit for cannabis, IMO.

How long do you veg outside? Months, right? There is your answer. Longer veg, bigger yields. More light outside, by far, than 1Kw.

I can get tall colas off 18" plants in hydro in 8 weeks. I better. It is an expensive set up to control even one environment.

If you are after the mythical 1 gram per watt, that's 5 plants at 200 grams each. Or 1 plant with 1 kilo.

If your buds are loose that's different. How much space, air circulation, etc? I add a little bit of flower hardener, Gravity. I get thumb sized nugs that will bounce on the table like wood chips.

Are you sure you don't have root pests? That is a problem with soil.

Good luck and increased yields! :)

A few things could be wrong the light distance. You said there is gaps between the buds has me to believe that. Also like Rek said maybe your genetics. If its sativa Dom you might be pulling too early sativas take 8+ weeks to mature. Sometimes 3 months of flowering.

Maybe its air exchange not meeting co² requirements. Are your temps dialed in?? It could be the dreaded spidermites. Might even be gnat larve hate those too. Maybe a lack of micro nutes. Can't say much without those pics. Go over EVERY aspect of your grow. Including your method. Check the details for mistakes.

Add co2. I burn about six briquets of charcoal in a small barbecue to add co2. The largest colas I ever got I generated co2 with a wood stove. For a 1kw grow 5-6 briquets while the light is on will make a noticable difference. Regardless of how you generaye it co2 is the answer.

one bulb is 3 runs old and the other is on its second run..as well as the ballast, the other ballast is quite old.running 2k
temps are betweem 68-82f,humidity is between 50-65%.
i have a 450 cfm fan on 24/7 to exhaust a 5.5' x 8' x 6' room
my ph is always between 6-6.3,never check the run off,but my plants are very healthy with a nice shine to the dark green leaves.plants are no further than 2 feet from lights.

Yeah I think you are on to your issue. If you are feeding only every 10 days and you only do 1 feed then 2 waterings, I think you could be feeding more often. In comparison, I use smaller pots that dry out much faster, leading to every 3 days. The flowering nutrients I use actually calls for feeding every watering but I will give it 2 feedings, 1 watering. Of course that means over a 10 day stretch (which you are on) I feed my plants 2x and water once. In the course of 1 feeding and 2 waterings (that is 30 days) I have fed my plants around 8 times compared to your once.

If I were you, first I would move to smaller pots, I don't think you need as big as you are using. Then I would make sure the smaller pots have really good drainage. That will allow you to increase your feeding schedule tremendously.

I watch the tips of the leaves, when the tip on the very end of the leaf turns rust, I know it has what it needs. If that rust spreads from there, too much, back off some.

a better drained growing medium would make a noticeable difference. ten days is too long between fertilizing, especially during the flowering period. GL

mix the strain up man, although a plant does get better every generation, It is only going to produce so much THC and the buds are going to stay the same, try the cheese's they have very dense buds, anyway GOOD LUCK, and one love KEEP US POSTED :leaf: im sure with 15 years under your belt you will figure it out :)
