Just checking out some CFLs on ebay for my next prospective grow, I found this

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/E27-daylight-6400k-CFL-grow-light-Studio-lamp-bulb-photography-105w-New-/171103907281?pt=AU_Lighting_Fans&hash=item27d6966dd1&_uhb=1

At first, its quite a fortunate find for the price given the specs, but then after some probing questions to the seller, namely some proof that it is really performs at 6400k, all he can basically say in a round about way is : "Believe me, it is 6400k".

I am sceptical, but if someone can point out that it is possible to get a CFL performing at those specs for a comparable price.. then maybe it would give me some confidence in this sale..

So does anyone think you can get a CFL like that, at that price?

Amazon sounds like 1 hell of a bargain. DO NOT BUY LIGHTS OFF EBAY. They will break. I have learned this the hard way and have had every bulb and set up purchased from ebay burn out. It is cheap crap made in china and sold as a knock off online. I have had much better luck with amazon and things like warranty and seller contact for returns are really important for all fragile and potentially dangerous equipment. Ebay HPS bulbs exploding? Not safe. Ebay ballast melting a faulty 10a fuse holder before the 15a fuse blew? Almost burnt my house to the floor.... Buy quality products from quality local stores, in the long run your dollar will go farther and you wont wake up to melting lights in your lab. And if you do, you won't have to call China with questions, just go make a friend at your local hydro store!
