any tips on how i can revert plants that were on 12/12 for 2 weeks back to 18/6 veg cycle with minimal wait time for their recovery?

Hey man, all is not lost, although I cannot recommend an 18/6 timing schedule if you intend to put these plants back into veg. One way to shorten the recovery time is by resetting the plants internal clock. This is done by making sure the plant has 36 hours of uninterrupted darkness. After that, put your lighting schedule on 24/0 timing :). If there are any flowering sites, remove them before they die off naturally to prevent any pests from feeding off sites which the plant no longer has need for. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask!

why did you do that? I would of waited and vegged 24/0 till sex shows at about week 4-6 of veg when it starts showing preflowers. then you wouldnt have had to waste a month forcing it into flowering it and then forcing it back.

36 hours darkness awesome, will try. Thanks friendly stone man.
I have just reverted two females back to veg cycle in 36 hours know dark period 250wcfl 3 inches of the top 24/0 and now no more hairs have appeared and grown 2.5cm as I am using for cloning I will just leave on 24/0 forever as cannabis needs no dark period it will quite happy to not have any dark cycle and you could clone and clone and clone some more cutting 4 to 5 weeks right off the grow cycle time line

You my friend are sadly mistaken about marijuana not needing dark periods. EVERY plant WANTS dark periods, as they do more root growing, and they also will do any minor repairs if the plant has sustained damage. After all it's the way it grows in nature, and nature gives us better then man does!

Now...the other part...maryjane will take LONGER to sex using a 24/0 schedule, a schedule of 16/8 has them sexed within the first 5-6 weeks. I personally don't believe in making your plant sex...it would be like asking a 9 year old girl to mature right now. The plant will give you better results letting it mature natually.

my plants show sex at week 3-5 of 24/0, how is that slower than 5-6 on the 16/8 or 18/6 cycle your talking about,. lol.
as for needing a dark period.....i must strongly disagree, what lighting cycle do you root clones on? 24/0, roots grow just fine w/o a dark period. did you know some parts of the world get 24 hrs of light all summer? their was a grow journal i saw on here a while back and the guys plants were huge. i agree with you on not having your plant flower till its mature though. mankind can improve nature artificially actually.....look at farming, ever seen a 1000lb wild pig? big domestic pigs can top that easily.look at the stuff tjey do to get bigger harvests and that on farms, i could give more examples but im kinda lazy. lol, dont take nothing personal here man, I dont mean it in that way.

lol, i feel dumb for admitting this but i was like "wait, oprah had a 1000lb wild hog on her show? wtf, did she have a nature week or something?"......and then it hit me. +rep

it never will, people are stuck in their ways and will never admit(either side) they are wrong/mistaken or that in certain situations one is better than the other even if concrete 100% info was found to prove it . that info doesnt exist though. i use 24/0 w/cfls, if i had hps i'd use 18/6, its a preferance thing i suppose. you could always go ahead and try it out and do 2 identical grows one on 18/6 and one on 24/0 and see how it goes and hit us up w/updates in yourgrow journal, i'll be watching if you do. lol

I've said this before and i'll say it again...there are many techniques to growing weed...and most work well, if it's works...use it! Just find what suits you most...and darkdestruction is right...people are stuck in there ways...i know i am sometimes!!!

I think as far as this debate goes, my opinion is this. Vegging with cfls or tubes then 24/0 by all means. HID then 18/6 or 20/4. I lean more toward the 18/6.
