Whatsup guys, Im setting up my new grow room that's a 4x10 and right now I have 4 agents orange ladies that I've low stress trained and suppercropped. I was just wondering if I should use 2 600w or 2 1000w hps lights for em. They're in soil in 3 gallon bags, I have 2 6" hoods with 2 quantum digital ballasts, a carbon filter with a 626 cfm fan, and insulated ducting. I have 26 clones for a SOG next run. Any suggestions??

I run a similar setup but I chose to run 2 x 1k Watt lamps. It's just more bang for the dollar, if you ask me... Sure, if your hoods are not cooled, then you will have to keep the lamp away from the tops of the plants, thus wasting light and extra money on electricity, but outside of that, the plants are going to love the extra wattage. What kind of suggestions were you gunning for?

Thanks for the replies. I have 2 hydrofarm air cooled hoods. Im just goin for the biggest yield for my money. I heard if costs about the same to run a 1000w as a 600w hps. I think ima do it big with the 2k and see what my outcome is. Such an exciting process.

2K is going to be overkill unless you get them girls in some bigger containers so the can spread their wings a little better. You won't need the larger footprint of the 2k unless you do so. 3 gal containers are awfully small to expext huge yields imo. If I was you (and I've grown a ton of AG) I would transplant them into 5-7 gallon containers with good soil and bennies, let them get a footing for 7-10 days and flip them lights! You will happy you did the transplanting and then you have the addition of the extra 800 watts and things will blow up. That AG has two main pheno's tall, lanky and resioness or short bushy blockhead. Both can be great yielders and are a good choice in genetics. I've grown (and actually have a couple now) Jackie O, which is also an orange stain and the AG blows it out of the water no question bout it...

How big are your plants now? Howblong till you pull the trigger on flowering? Depending on those questions id def transplant into either a 7 or 10 gallon pot and let them fill the container out. I still think 2 x 1 k isboverkill for 4 plants. Nugbuckets pulls an elbow off a single 600/4 plants/proper training. Personally i would go for 2 x 600 for the time being, and possibly add a 3rd later on. 3 600s will smash 2 1ks in tha footprin even if you have xxxl hoods on the 1ks. Im not familar with the hydrofarm 6 and im on my phone so i cant check it out, but assuming it about the same footprint a a nlockbuster 6 it will work great with 600s. It coats leas money to run 3 600s vs 2 1ks.

The 1000's will make for a deeper light penetration and also denser buds pending ur fan is enough to keep them cool so u can run them as close as possible, otherwise just the having to set the lamps 3-4in higher then the 600's would most likely = about the same penetration depth thereby honestly making it about the same yield potential not to mention costing you more $$$$ to run the higher wattage, and cool them.

Everything else being = if you can keep ur 1000's cool enough to run at the same height above the canopy tops as your 600's then by all means use the 1000's.

I personally run strictly 600's for both the amperage draw and power savings, also more lumens per watt, and better cooling ability.

This winter if its a cold one I may run 1000's instead but ill have to wait and see.

I didn't see the part about the 26 clone SOG run next... Deffinately the 2k then, as you will be able to use all of the light output. Are you growing in a tray or table by chance? Two 1,000 watters over a 4x8' table is the way to go! With your 26 plants, I would eliminate two leaving 24 total. 6 rows of four evenly spaced would be ideal. I would grow them out two about 2' with a decent amount of branching and flip the lights with trellising up above. If you do it right you should be able to pull 1-1.5lb a light for a total of 2-3lbs from that tray. Wish you the best man!

Thanks! Sorry for the late response. My plants are in 3 gallon bags. I heard they can get much bigger in those rather than buckets, it's my first time using them so I don't know. They are about a foot tall right now and ive low stressed trained and I just super cropped them. Once they heal I think I'm gonna put them in 7 gal buckets just to be safe. I planned on putting them in flowering in 4 days but if I transplant them it'll be another week. I think I'll run the 2 1k lights and see how it goes. I read the 600w and 1000w difference in the electricity bill are about the same. But who knows until I test it.
