140 watt hps

whats good everyone. I'M just about to begin my second grow, after a relatively successful first grow. on the first one i used cfl's and decided that they just don't cut it, at least for the type of grow i'm interested in. So i decided to go with two 70 watt hps. My question is, could i support 10 healthy autoflowers under 140 watts or do i need more. Any comments would be much appreciated. Peace out.

I could be wrong, but I think you need more lighting than that. My reasoning is 10 plants=10cft 140watts/10= 14 watts per sqft, which will not be doing you much justice in flowering. I could be wrong, but thats just my opinon. Goodluck!

The 70 watters get real week about 7 in from bulb.(Less than 5000 lumens/ft) But they would work.
I would to at at least go with 2- 150 hps they effective down to 12in ish.
Use 4 plants per light. in 2 gal containers.
