Anyone do this? I hear 150 doesn't produce too much heat. I could LST or scrog in three feet and take advantage of the horizontal space? Anyone growing in a short (3 foot) stealthy cabinet with 150 hps?

I'm also thinking about starting a grow about that size and using a 150w hps. From what I have read (there's a thread somewhere, it was linked from one of the CFL VS. HPS debate threads, but i don't remember where exactly) it is possible to use this size light, but you need to use a cool tube and proper ventilation. Some one had a stealth grow built out of a entertainment centre or something... with 150w HPS for flowering using scrog and fluorescents for the mothers.

yeah you can do it....get a cool tube.. i got one from Michael's (craft store) for $5.99US, its called hurricane glass. anyway check out icmag.com/ic and go to the 150watt hps club link......
put the light/cooltube in the middle and grow the plants around the light, this will give you the whole 36 inches (minus the pot or container you grow in) to grow in.....good luck!

I am actually growing with a 150w HPS in about a 5 foot tall wood box that I have buried outside, pretty stealthy actually and working great. I have four plants that are all into the first week of flowering and all looking very healthy. I like the 150w but it was only bought because of our low budget at the time. We will definitely go with a 400w HPS for our next grow but if your planning on just a couple plants, the 150w will work just make sure you always have the light about an inch or so above the plants. My buddy is the one updating our thread on here so here is the link if you want to check out what a 150w light will get ya. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/123028-first-grow-pics-just-started.html Ill get some pictures up of our setup in the next couple days or so.
