What's up guys so i'm about 3 weeks in to my 2nd ever grow. Learned a lot from my mistakes in the first grow and now my setup is a whole lot better and ive got stuff down a bit more. Still learning tho so feedback greatly appreciated!

Have posted a pic of my 3 current plants. Strains are moby dick, sharksbreath and ak48. The sharks breath is on the left and is looking a bit sad, not sure why it's drooping a bit and not growing as strongly as the other two. Certainly not over watering as these plants are under 3 weeks old and have been watered once in pots with good drainage, 6l pots tho so they hold the water.

My questions: is my 60x60x180 tent going to be big enough for these 3? They're looking to get pretty bushy already not sure ive ive got the width to house them? Any way of training them to grow a lil taller dya think? So far ive not done anything but was thinking of topping them soon; maybe not the best idea?
And also any comment on what's up with the sharks breath? (Weaker looking plant, back left.)

Hey man, your space should be big enough if you don't veg them for too long. How long you planning on vegging? . I wouldn't top them if your worried about them being bushy. Topping would only make them shoot more side branching, making them bushier.
The sharks breath is maybe just slower in veg than the others. It looks a bit droopy, let it dry out completely before the next watering. Looks pale too. What soil is it in?

Looking good. Your space should be plenty big enough. You can make them stretch by raising the lights up a bit but i would not worry about it. What kind of soil are they in? That may help determine when to start feeding. What will you be using for nutes?

Alright sounding ok then i'll not attempt any training.
My nutes are.. Bio-bloom and bio-grow. The manufacturer seems to be bio-bizz? And the soil is also biobizz, called 'light-mix' (I'm guessing that implies it's light in nutes?

I use all those bio bizz products, I use topmax as well tho. I usually get away with feeding until week 3or4(of veg). Then I start with half ml of grow per litre.
Yeah light mix contains light nutes. Its perfect imo for starting seeds. I try to start them in light mix then transplant into all mix, tho funds don't always allow me to do that lol
Try and download the bio bizz feed chart to give you an idea of when to up the feeds an so on. You can get it by searching Google

Just remember different strains dont always feed the same. Some are heavier feeders than other's. So you may find yourself making 3 different feed mixes

Great advice, I'll do my best to follow it! Glad you think the soil is good and everything though.. and yeah i doubt i'll be transplanting them or anything. It was stressful enough getting the seedlings out of the "starter pots" i had them in into the 6L ones they're currently in.

It would be nice if manufacturers made starter pots that come(snap) apart for people that use plantpots. It would make transplanting from from plantpot to plantpot much easier. I do one transplant. From the cloning bin to the rock table.

You should be fine vegging for that time. They should at least double in height when switched to 12/12. If they get to big you cant add side lighting or lollypop them so you don't get popcorn buds lower down.
Keep in mind cfls dont have the same light penetration as HID' s. Thats why some ppl who flower with cfls flower when it reaches a certain height.

Right, how do i "lolipop" a plant again? Think i saw on youtube it's like just taking off lower branches right? Would I want to be doing this with all of them one? or two?

And I just realised that I shouldn't need to worry about letting them veg for a while because I just worked my time-frame out and even if i let them veg for 6 weeks i've got at least 12 weeks in which to complete the grow. Should be OK even for the dinafem moby dick which i've seen on other grows go 11 weeks+ in flower

Yh its basically just striping all the lower stuff that won't turn into much. You can do it to one, two or all of them. Make that decision once you've switched to 12/12. Look it up on here, theres a power of ppl doing it.
So you've got 12 weeks from now to finish your grow? Or 12 weeks after your veg time to finish the grow?

Sorry to keep bumping my thread I just keep having new thoughts about the grow.. I guess this is learning!?

I was reading some stuff about different types of lighting and wondering if it would be worth me getting a 150W HPS for flowering? OR using a 70W MH with a few CFLs in there as well? Or shall i just stick with ~200w of CFLs

You don't have to apologise for wanting to learn mate.
You've got 3 plants on the go, so a 150w hps is only gonna give them 50w each. You should be aiming for at least 100w per plant. Its your choice pal.
Maybe a 150w hps with cfls as suppliment lighting?

Hmm 100w/plant.. That just for HPS or am I gonna want to get some more cfl's in? I read that you want 100 for 1 plant and 50 for the others?

Because the light from cfls is less intense I aim for 100w per plant.
I do 4,5 plants under 2 x 300w duel spec cfls and add a 125w (blue) cfl if I feel the need

You should check out a book by seemorebuds called marijuana buds for less. That guy pulls good weights from cfls. And teaches you 'how to' in the book

Alright, I think i'd be happy to up the wattage after switching to 12/12 as there'll be less consumption overall. Would you recommend that I switch earlier to flowering in order to have more time under higher wattage light at 12/12? Or will the extra veg period still be beneficial in the long run even at lower intensity?

And I think you've earned your +rep by now, closetgardener!
