1st AG Grow, Lowryder #2, root slime/rot. HELP!!!

This is my first rodeo. Everything was going good week one. Now it seems I have hit a roadblock. Plants have not moved vertical in a week. I believe I have the rot or at least the beginning of the rot. The roots have turned a slight yellowish tint and seem to be bonding together by a clear slimy substance (algae?). My question is how can I fix this. I have read you can wash the roots under tap water? I have also read just flush and add 2-3 tsp's of hydrogen peroxide to the res? Please help as I was counting on this to be my xmas bud!!!!!! Thanks much for any help in advance.

Change the reservoir, get some Hygrozyme. It will take care of the problem and give you healthy white roots.

Thanks for the quick reply. The Hydro shop is not open today but will go get some Hygrozyme first thing in the morning. So heat and light are the contributing factors to what caused this I assume. Which I blame myself for as I did not eliminate all light from my basin until just yesterday. Is there anything else I need to look for going forward to prevent this. I have a 400W MH hood in front of my AG which ups the temperature on the front of the AG and probably the res as well. I have a IR thermostat and the leaves themselves are about 72 degrees. But the res may be warmer. Does anyone have a suggestion on how cool the water in the res should be kept?

Just wanted to update my original post.

H202 and Hygrozyme combo saved 1 of my 2 girls. The root rot really stunted the plant heavily for like 5 weeks then it exploded into a Lowryder II super dwarf!! 8 Inches and I estimate atleast 1/2 oz of dry material. Look below to see "Biggie Smalls" life Progression.
