First off a big thank you to the RIU community. The awesome info on this site has really helped guide my first grow.
I've been a MMC holder for several years, but never considered growing myself. I was recently up in the bay area, visiting the famous dispensary Harborside in Oakland, and decided to pick up two clones.
The Plants:
1 x Sour Diesel
1 x Double Dream
After purchasing the clones on 7/29, I immediately began researching how to grow these bad boys. Decided to keep costs as low as possible for this first endeavor.
Soil:
Vigoro Potting Mix (have since purchased FF organic but have not used yet)
I took my wilted and sad looking clones out of their plastic bags, put them in small pots with some Vigoro soil, and put them right out into the blazing Southern California sun. Fail! Both clones got badly burnt, so after some quick research, moved them to shaded areas where they quickly recovered.
The clones vegged for about 3 weeks, before I saw the first signs of buds beginning to form. This was around 8/20, so the plants were already getting 12+ hours of darkness. As advertised, they began flowering automatically.
At this time I bought a Safer brand bug spray for vegetable plants, supposedly safe to use until the day of harvest. I used this for three weeks but have since stopped using now that the plants are coming up on week 3 of flowering. Don't want to create any mold.
I moved them to larger 3.5 gallon containers, added a little Kellog organic plant fertilizer, and since then they have been fruiting pretty nicely. After two weeks of flowering, I picked up some Earth Juice Bloom fertilizer, and have been slowly increasing the dosage each feed, working my way up from 1/4 tbsp per gallon of water. I've now started bubbling my water before feeding the plants. Put tap water, Earth Juice Bloom, and a couple drops of raw agave nectar into the watering can and then bubble for 12-24 hours before feeding.
Quick Summary:
Days Total - 40
Flowering - Last 20 days
Soil - Vigoro Potting Mix
Fertilizer - Earth Juice Bloom
PH - Have never checked
Pest Control - Safer brand spray (now stopped)
Some questions, any help greatly appreciated.
Sour Diesel Questions (the tall spindly plant)
1. I'm starting to see brown and yellow leaf tips. Mostly on oldest fan leafs. Too much ferts?
2. Newest growth bottom leaves have turned yellow and are dying off. Cause for concern?
3. I definitely have some spider mites, as every day I see a few spider strings from nearby plants connected to my clones. No obvious sings of total infestation, but I am always knocking different bugs off the plant. What do you guys think about using lady bugs to control the pests?
4. Fan leaves are getting much lighter in color, no longer dark green. Is this normal?
5. Fan leaves have purple stems. Seeing a little purple in some places on the main steam. I know this can be normal, or a sign of nutrient lock out. Thoughts?
6. I'm thinking about transplanting one final time, into a large container with earth worm castings and FF organic soil. Should I even bother at this point and potentially harm/stall flowering?

Double Dream (the short, single growth one)
1. This plant is still bright green, getting plenty of N. Should I up the bloom ferts?
2. This plant is so short, 12 inches, and so dense I can barely see what is happening. I know my harvest will be small from this plant, but could the potency be effected by the short veg and stature of the plant?
3. Also getting yellow/brown leaf tips on this guy, but not as bad. Should I change anything?

And for the hell of it, some flower porn:

Thanks in advance for any help!
