This is my first ever grow, i have always loved smoking but it is not always easy for me to get what i need so i thought id give this ago and cut out the middle man. Anyway here is what i have:

For Veg: 125 Watt Blue Spectrum Envirolight CFL with reflector
For Flower: 250 Watt Red Spectrum Envirolight CFL with reflector

Still Natural Mineral Water PH (at source) 6.7

Air Flow
9 inch osilating fan and my window open (just to let a bit o fresh air in)

I also read somwhere that a PH level between 6.5 and 7.0 was ok for growing in soil if this is not true pleas let me know. I am at the moment in the process of germinatin 2 seeds using the wet paper technique i found this to be the most quick and easy way.

Please give advice, all coments are welcome and i will be posting pics as soon as i can aford to buy a decent digi cam, so until then i guess this is goodbye.

I'm looking forward to hearing more of your progress, and with the help here you should not fail.

6.5-7.0 is fine for soil, and you've made the right choice in starting with an easy medium. Soil is very forgiving.

Buying a digital pH meter would be a good investment... although I survived with litmus for ages.

Welcome to the Boards! Sounds like a great set up, but what's your plan for stench control? Without some kind of carbon filtration system, an open window is just asking for trouble.

With my grow, my haze girls just reeked - after two and half weeks of veg. You might want think seriously about an exhaust fan through a carbon filter.

one seed has sprouted from the seed shell but only about 1-2 mm tho, im just wating for the other one to do so too but i need to buy some pots so they will have to stay where they are for now.

Just a quick update,

one seed has been in soil for about a day now, the lighting is 20/4. but the temp goes quite high sometimes but my fan is set to go on every half an hour altho i woul like it on all time but i cant for reasons out of my controll. so i hope the heat will not affect it too much but it is in the rang of 80 to 90 and evan upto 100 some times which is anoying.

on the other seed i dont think that it is gonig so well it hasent reall sprouted from the shell but i will give it till the end of this week otherwise its gone.

anyway thats about it but i will keep posting to let everyone who is interested and i will try and get some pics soon. gd luck to all the other newbie growers out their.

You need to get the temp's down to at least 80.

i went to check on her this morning and i still didnt see anything sprouting from the soil. but then i see this lttle green thing underneath the soil and theit it growing, so i uncoverd it and it is very tiny but i can see tiny little leavs starting to develop inbetween the pod leaves so that made me happy this morning, i also gave it a little water because it needed some. also the stem has been bent a little bit because i asume it was the pressure of the soil on top of it when it was trying to grow so i am praying this wont affect it too much. i am leaving my window open 24/7 now and i think that seems to keep the level to 80 now so thats gd. well thats all for now bye

Right here we go,

the seed has sprouted through the soil wich i have already mentioned but what is new is that the first 2 leaves have now strted to grow bigger not masive but fair bigger than before. i waterd them again today cuz the needed some so i hope that will boost the growth a bit over the next 24 hrs. Had a problem with the light when i woke up this morning i thadent turned on through the night besauce of a loose conection i think but that is sorted now so hopefully that will not happen again.
