Hey all, its been a few years since I have been on these forums but it was extremely helpful for first outdoor grow, 8 years ago!

I am about to get my nutrients at last but I really want to make the best choice for my grow and I was hoping I can get some input here.

4 clones in my 4x2 tent.
The strains are Runtz, Apple Fritter, Mimosa, & a Tropicanna Cookies cross.
I have 2 1000x LEDs and I am growing in Motherearth Coco/Perlite mix.
I have 1 humidifier, 2 small fans and a fan/duct for venting & and carbon filter.

I want to get a nutrients starter kit from a reputable company that has a good reputation and I want to know what y'all think.
The kits I am looking into are by:

1. Advanced Nutrients
2. Canna Coco
3. Emerald Harvest
4. Nectar for the Gods

I care most about the quality over quantity... Flavor, aroma, resin production, terpenes etc.

Any information or advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

I wouldn't use any of those. As long as the nutrient has what the plant needs is all that matters. There is no need to pay for overpriced cannabis specific nutrients.

Jacks or something similar. People use just GH MaxiBloom with excellent results.

That's my opinion but if you want to pay 4 - 5 times as much to get the same result then that's your decision.

They'll all feed your plant what it wants and needs. Just don't overfeed whatever you decide to use.

Good luck with your grow. :weed:

Emerald Harvest is just rebranded General Hydroponics. In my neck of the woods it's actually cheaper than GH, but I don't like the spout on the EH bottles, so I stick with GH, but Emerald Harvest is a fine line up. IMHO, Advanced is too pricey. No comment on the others. I'd look at Jacks too. I've never used it, but a lot people are having success with it and you'd have a lot people to answer your questions. Whatever line you end up choosing, cut the recommended dose in 1/2.

I'm currently using Emerald harvests line up and its working very well for me. You can find the starter kit, but shop around. I found a starter kit for $130.

I use the TPS line with 3ml per gal of Dyna grow in veg. The Signal is all you need for flavor, aroma, resin production, terpenes. Have tried so many lines of nutrients and have had best all around results with this line. I did have to switch from the TPS CalMag to the Botanicare CalMag+ because they began to show an iron deficiency. I gave 7ml per gal until week 7.

I use the Signal from TPS and it works very well. It will bring out purples in strains that don't normally purple, as well as more resin production and aroma. I like it, I only use it in the last week or sometimes two of flower though.

The choice of nutrient brand is largely irrelevant; good results can be achieved with any of them. It's highly unlikely the brand of nutes is going to be the limiting factor in your 1st grow; you'll have enough other parameters to keep in check.

A bag of good quality compost, a bag of perlite 20% mixed into the compost
basic grow and bloom nutes
Ph pen and EC meter.

keep it basic, learn how to grow first.

Simple organics is the way to go. Espoma, Down to Earth and Dr Earth have perfectly acceptable dry ferts you mix in the soil. Then you just water. No chemicals in your weed.

I am new grower as well but after much research i decided on jacks 321 ..several reasons mainly its idiot proof and im the biggest idiot i know ..with the other nutes your paying for mostly water and some food coloring along with pretty labels and exotic names ..jacks is simple to mix , really cheap , works in most growing mediums like soil, coco, and hydro and for about 100 bucks you can have years worth of nutes ..you will need a ph meter or strips for water and a tds/ec meter ....if your water has high ph like mine some way to reduce ph ..i use battery acid cause its cheap and a lil goes a long way ...just dont use any from a battery buy a jug ..its used in some brands of aquarium products ..hope it helps
