Like the title said, this is my first post on these threads and this will be the intro to my 1st grow journal :D

Prop 19 seemed to have failed us, I bet we win in 2012 in Cali as the latest polls (54% no and 46% yes at 80% precincts reporting in) show that this measure could have won. All California needs is a couple years and better information (as well as a better written proposition).

Prop 19 was supposed to give us 25 sq ft to work with so what I mapped out was a 4x4 flowering area and a 3x3 vegging area (which comes out to 25 sq ft). I have my 4x4 flowering area framed out and walled with caulking in between all of the outside areas making for a lightproof box. This area is a little over 7ft tall so I should be able to hang my light and have some tall flowering plants with no problem (prop 215 says I can have 6 mature plants). I'm only going to be flowering 6 plants in the 4x4 area so I have a little wiggle room for larger plants and some LST/Supercropping.

With all of this said, tomorrow I'm going down and getting my license and starting some clones out that I need to procure from some local dispenseries. I'll be growing in coco. I have some 2 gal pots that I planned on using for a SOG type growing method but I'm not sure if these pots are going to be large enough now with the size of plants I plan on growing (5ft). I have 1 liter pots that I plan on putting my clones in for transplant after their 1.5 in. rockwool cubes for cloning. I'm sort of worried the 2 gal pots wont sustain my 4-5 ft. plants (insight on this would be cool :D).

For lighting I have 1 250 HPS and I plan on using about 6-8 larger CFLs for flowering and about 8 mixed spectrum 42 bulbs for vegging that I made DIY reflectors for .

I'll be using the KISS method of maxibloom and flower dry nutes with 2-3 waterings with epsom salts.

Thanks for reading and subscribe because old glory will be making our hobby a legal dream come true soon enough. :leaf:

I've been a looong time lurker but these are my first posts. I've spent hours a day for months researching what I want to do. I may be a noob when it comes to face time with my plants but this and many other forum sites/youtube I believe have almost made me a sub-pro grower to start out. Thanks all of you for documenting and talking about the problems/solutions to problems you have had with your grows, it helps us noobs immensely.

I went down and got my medicinal license today, it was super easy! I was in and out in about 20 minutes.

I'll get some pictures up tomorrow when I've made my little veg area better but I picked up a Kryptonite clone and I transplanted it into a 1ltr pot. She's sitting under 2 30w cfls and an oscillating fan.

Just another quick update. I fixed all of my wiring in the garage and I set up the veg area the way I want it. While I was doing this I put my lady outside to soak some rays. I checked on her after about 15 min of work and she got all droopy looking. We're having a pretty bad heat wave here in SoCal and the temps in la are around 93 (it's flippin Nov). I put her back inside the garage where the temps are around 80 right now and shes back with her fan. She perked right back up in about 10 minutes!

I have a question that someone might be able to answer. Everywhere I look about the Kryptonite strain people are talking about 2 different plants. Many are saying that it is OG kush x sour diesel. Oaksterdam says it's The Purps x Killer Queen. Both are said to be an indica dominant cross. I'm noticing some purple on the smaller stems, does purple on the stemming indicate a purple bud? I'm trying to narrow down what I have.

Guess it's just one of those strains? I've smoked some Kryptonite from the dispensary I bought the clone from and I hope it's the same plant (quite dank). The little clone's doing well in her transplanted pot.

Going to flush her next watering, I really don't know what was in the soil I used and I want to start from scratch with some superthrive and some basic veg nutes.

^^^BS! Nothing working toward legalazation is bad, the only thing Prop 19 was bad for was the pockets of the selfish growers who were afraid of losing their livlihoods, so they decided to fck the rest of us and let us go to jail for the products they produce instead. JERKS!

Clueless... Read the facts, do some research.

Yo, I don't want this thread to turn into a prop 19 debate, it's over already, get over it. One simple fact I want to toss up, I would have been able to grow more weed under prop 19. 215 only allows me 6 mature plants OR 12 immature, California minimum in Los Angeles county. Compare that to a 5x5 room where I could get at least a good 12 decent sized plants. I'm not butt-hurt over it, but I did my research (weeks on end).

Anywho, let's not confuse politics and growing.

So last night, after my friends left, I killed the lights on my little girl. I wanted to give her 6 hours of darkness to promote some root development (transplanted 2 days ago). When I turned the lights on this morning I noticed she had grown a little more in one night than when I had the light on 24 hours. Still waiting on the pot to dry out a little more before I flush the soil.

Get over what? Prop 19 would have been a bad deal for California. It would have altered prop 215 law as well. Why don't you think it passed? Pro marijuana people voted against it. Read the link I posted. Clear as day. Prop 19 was bullshit.

I read the De La Luz argument and a few like it. I'm saying get over it because it's over. We have 2012 to come up with a better proposition.

No more prop 19 bs in this thread please, I was pretty drunk/stoned watching prop 19 lose when I first started this journal. I went the day after to get my 215 card.

Jesus. In New Mexico you have to prove with medical records and a doctor's recommend that you have a medical need and that nothing else helps before you can even consider getting a card. It took them forever to process and issue my card. I then had to apply for a grow license which is even more difficult to obtain. I started the process in Nov. of last year and finally got my card in February. It took until late March and two denials to get my grow permit. Ya'll are lucky. :(

Wow, that sucks. Seems like everyone's just trying to cover their ass. I took me no more than 20 minutes, in and out the door. The doctor asked me a few questions, as I answered she didn't even looked like she was listening. She waited till I was done talking and said she recommends me for medicinal MJ. Just waited for her to sign a paper, the desk lady tried to up-sell me on a copy of the thing for 10 bucks, said fuck that, and I was on my way.

Exciting news! I found a 1000w HPS ballast, 2' square hood, and 1000w bulb on craigslist for 125 today! God I fucking love craigslist <3

Although I probably wont have ready plants ready for my flowering chamber for another month or so, it's friggin great news. The bulb is probably used, for how long who knows. New 1000 watters put out about 150k lumens. I'm guessing this thing still has a good 120k lumens which puts me at 7500 lumens per sq ft. My ladies are going to love me!

The weather around here has been weird to say the least. Was 93 a couple days ago and last night it rained.

I flushed my baby right now, the soil was finally dry and I noticed my roots were already coming out of the bottom of the 1ltr container she's in. I used last nights rain to my advantage and flushed all of the soil I had lying around here. I had a pretty wide bin that I drilled holes into and I let the rain water leach all the bs out of my soil.

Picked up the light this evening, I really think I got a steal for $150 bucks. 1000w ballast with a 20" sq hood and a new 1000w bulb, I'll go out there and look at the manufacturer names tomorrow, got kind of medicated on some Durban Poison and thought of writing the names and crap down but never got to it, some amazing dart games were had though :D . Anyways, got around to taking a couple of pictures of my Kryptonite clone. She really seems to be shooting some roots now, her growth between nodes seems to be growing faster than the top of the plant. She's about 5 inches tall, and the mother plant she was taken off must have been pretty big.

Found the ballast info this morning :D http://www.hydrofarm.com/pb_detail.php?itemid=3497

Pretty much got 450 bucks worth of goodies for 150.

Not too many updates this morning. The new growth on top of the plant from pictures last night has doubled in size and is now horizontal instead of vertical. Seems like some of the secondary growth is outpacing the main stem.

I'll be setting up and mounting the hood today. I'm thinking of keeping the ballast up top and out of the room. The flowering space is under some rafters in the garage. Since the power supply for the flowering area is inside of the flowering area I'm thinking of drilling 2 holes. One for the plug-in and another for the light chord. I'm trying to keep it clean up top in there.

Feel free to post up in here with any questions or comments.
