Greeting everyone at RIU. I just wanna say, first off, that this is an amazing site with a lot of helpful advice. So, before i knew about this site i started a couple little bagseed beauties (one name Spleo, and the other Otishia). well, i didn't know the magic and wonders of CFL lights before visiting this site so these guys were baking 24/0 under 2 12 watt desk lamp and a 60 watt envirlight for drafting tables.

The first plant i planted, Spleo was stretching for the sky in a week and eventually toppled over. Then i planted Otishia about a week later. "she"(here's for hoping) was under those light for about two weeks and only grew half the height of her dead sister(about 8-10 inches with 6 nodes), but now i upgraded to 3 42 watt CFL bulbs 1 24 CFL watt bulb, and two small 9 watt CLFs. I transplanted her just this morning and she seems really happy..now the question.. is she too tall to keep trying or should i just germinate some more seeds. i will have a couple pictures up soon.

thanks in advance!

I would transplant if she is to tall and bury some of the streched stem, or add soil to the pot to bury some of the stem. Another good thing about cfl's is that they are energy efficient so your ladies get more light and you get cheaper elec bill : ] I think shill be fine but cant say for sure without pics

I do have a fan. Trust me, I have been lurking so hard on this board and soaking in all this knowledge that i feel like i'm turning into a weed botanist..not quite, but it is a fun hobby. Here is a picture of Otishia just this morning after i transplanted her. Can't hate on a lady with long limbs..

Wow she is streched!!!! i would maybe bury her past her first set of true leaves if possible. I would definately get some mylar to increase the effectiveness of the lights. Sidelighting is always a good thing as well especially with cfl's. Also since cfl's produce fluffier nugs than say with a hps i would look into buying some unsulphured mollasses. And other than that you already found the best advice ROLLITUP.ORG

Yea, she's stretched. I took your advice and added as much soil as possible..it is sitting just below the first true leaves..cant go any higher. Once i have my light mount setup i will build a nice flat white box around it. That's tomorrow's job! oh, and more lights are coming in two weeks.

She is looking good love the light set up. Dont see the pre flowers though, she should start branching out nice now. i would top her or FIM her that would make the side branches come out more and restrict her height so the stretch dont seem so bad.

FIM huh? interesting..I will read up on that before i start cutting at her head.Yea, im wasnt sure if those were preflowers or just secondary growth.. do you think it is ready to start flowering? its been sucking in this light 24/7!!

Thanks for your kind comments KAOSOWNER!

Good work man, you ran into some problems but seem to be trying to work through them and are taking peoples advice. Your plant is quite stretched but with a bit of fimming or topping you could probably counteract that a bit and still end up with a good looking plant. Im no expert by any means but from what I can see, I would wait a decent amount of time before flowering. I think when you top, or fim a plant, it stunts its growth a little while it starts growing those extra branches, so you will want to give it a week or two before flowering. Otherwise instead of making buds it will be putting its energy into regrowing those branches. I could be totally wrong tho and I encourage you to look around more into it before you put it into flower. Good luck!

Also, I dont think that those are preflowers, I think they are just more leaves/branches coming out.

hey thanks man!

Yea, this is my first grow so i need all the help i can get. I may wait a week to let it get used to the new snippet at the top of its head, then start flowering, it must be trippin balls right now!lol.
I just adjusted all of my lights around it to give it some good energy. I may look into creating some flat white walls to contain the light some more..but its a toughy..

BLAZE WON!

lol i did things are looking much better for her. The blind camel was right when he suggested waiting a week or 2, let the new branches grow some.
