1st week only seedling health and lighting.

I currently have 1 seedling in a dixie cup that sprouted a couple of days ago. i need to rewire my box and it wont be done for another couple days. i immediately placed the cup under 2 60w incandescents at 855 lumens each on my dresser. So far it is just starting to split 1st set and is solid green, looks fairly healthy. IS my lighting good enough for now? How long could it go in this light until it needs its true environment.

I was under the impression that incandescent light doesnt provide any of the proper spectrum light for plants. Go with compact fluorescent.

If you plan on growing only one plant, it should be enough lighting for the next couple weeks, but when it gets more leaves, it will need more light to penetrate the inner leaves. For one plant, I would get a 150w MH for optimum yield.

You should get a cheapo CFL and at least then you would know your giving your girl good light more efficiently. Aside from efficiency, its still way more usable light.
