2-in-1 tent suggestions

Hey guys, today im in the market for a 2-in-1 tent and im interested in hearing from people who have actually purchased them to give some feedback. I currently own 4 others tents from various makers in various sizes, but im getting ready to move to a much smaller living situation and the new place im going will only have room for one tent, so thats why 2-in-1 is necessary. One of my favorite tents has been my secret jardin DP60 propogation tent, and although SJ makes 2-in-1 tents ive read some bad reviews on them in the recent years so im actually trying to avoid their line for this purchase.

Firstly the 2 common sizes im contemplating between are 36x24x53 and 48x36x72, im leaning toward the 48x36x72 mostly for the height, 53" is a bit short for my flowering area, also i plan to do 4 plants in a revolving cycle and the flower room size of the smaller tent is only 2x2 so thats a bit tight as well. my only hold back to the larger size is while the 4ft width is perfect for the spot i have in mind the 3ft depth may be too large for the area- and unfortunately theres no way for me to know for sure until construction is completed and i begin moving my belongings in. There are certain brands ive found that have slightly different sizes, like yield-labs 36x24 has a 60" height rather than the common 53" but while 60" might be good enough for flowering the 2x2 footprint is still a bit tight for my 4 plants.

But besides the size im just curious which 2-in-1 tents y'all find are better quality, pros and cons of specific brands, etc. The brands ive seen with 2-in-1 options are vivosun, topogrow, growneer, and yield-lab. maybe y'all know of others, I own a 48x24x60 yield-lab tent already, its definitely not the highest quality tent i have, had quite a few light leaks that had to be patched but other than that it has held up nicely.. lemme hear y'alls feedback!

Just wanted to come back and update, I went with a Secret Jardin L100, its their updated version of the L90, has a slightly larger footprint & headroom coming in @ 39"x24"x62", the divider is sewn in rather than velcro like most 2-in-1's and the best feature is you get to pick where to put your intake/exhaust and wire ports, it comes with brackets and flanges that you pick where to put then cut out the hole with the provided perfect hole cutter tool, which i think is absolutely the best innovation in grow tents since they were made! Top of the veg side for clones, lower half for mothers, 4 plant revolving bloom side, perfect self supply setup :)20191022_171020.jpg20191029_185131.jpg20191028_214509.jpg

I really like my SJ 5x5. I saw the new line with the vents that you can put where you want. Cool idea.

Lmao wanted to come back to give a quick update- the new line of SJ tents are not waterproof at all :( i just had a malfunction with my drain out pump and wasted about 7gals of nutrient water, it didnt look like that much at first as i only saw about 1/4 inch of water in the tent, but then i noticed it was wet on the floor around my tent, it seeped through the floor tray, through the actual floor of the tent, and under my carpet. i should be sleeping right now since i work in the morning, instead im breaking down the whole system so i can get the carpet up and dry it all out.. gonna be tired af tomorrow for my 12 hour shift >.<

Daily how many plants can you grow in that tent ?
well i just set this tent up about a month ago so its not full yet, im doing perpetual with it so ill have 4 in the flower side offset by appx 25-30 days each, in the lower side of the 2x1 area i have 3 bonsai moms right now but i can fit up to 6 comfortably just to have a good selection of strains, and i use the upper half of the 2x1 side for clones/early veg.

Unreal...I can’t believe how many plants you’re growing in that small of a footprint! I thought I was pushing the limits with 4 plants in a 36” x 48” tent. It’s a 2-in-1 tent design as well, but I removed the divider to make it a single grow space. I have 2 other similar tents for a perpetual grow set-up, so I’m harvesting a crop from 1 of my 3 tents about every 5 or 6 weeks.

I top my plants & use a heavy duty SCROG system to force lateral growth & create an even canopy...and by mid-flower my tent is jam packed. By the way, I flooded my tent just yesterday so you’re not alone. Not too bad bcuz I caught it in time, otherwise it could have gotten really ugly!

nice man i like the scrog setup, i have a trellis for my 2x2 area too which im currently using for the 2 plants i have in there, i have scrogged in a 4x2 for many years but since im going perpetual and its a big pain in the ass to take out old plants and put in new ones under the net im going to 86 it after the 2 i have going are done, once i start the true perpetual cycle ill just be topping/fimming and using some tie downs to help keep the canopy relatively even. in my 4x2 i was doing 6 pots ebb n flow so each planter had 1sq foot of space and the remaining 2sq foot at the end was for the control bucket and fan, so im used to having only 1sq ft per plant, as long as i get 2oz+ per plant im happy and usually i hit 3+ anyway :bigjoint: it was tough finding a small enough container to use as a catch and drain box for this new 2x2 setup, what i ended up using is called a "sugar storer" and is literally designed to hold a standard size bag of sugar lol. i use 1 SJ monkey fan up top to help keep the led's cool and just keep air circulating and a vortex mini v8 oscilating fan in the bottom to keep good airflow around the base of the plants. bit of a tight squeeze but its all working great so far.

Ill update with some pics later, when i got this tent up and running i knew i needed to get something flowering right away as i had gotten down to my last 2oz of bud which will probably not even hold me over until these gals are finished >.< so i popped 6 seeds to start, 2 of each- Aurora Indica feminized, Mazar feminized, and Purple Power Plant regulars, all 6 popped quickly and i kept the best looking of each as mothers and put the other 3 into flower after a quick veg phase, the PPP's both turned out to be males and have been culled, so only 2 in flower and 2 mothers atm. Ive got 2 NL seeds and 2 OGK seeds working and ill do the same with those keep best 2 for mothers and bloom the other 2 so ill start the 25-30 day offset after the first 2 plants get chopped.

im right about middle of week 2, Aurora on the right, Mazar on the left under a P300+P150, mothers are under a P150 also, thinking of upgrading to a HLG135 for the moms so i can stick the other P150 in the flower side for a nice 600w 2x2 space xD

Nice grow! Incredible utilization of space! It’s pretty cool to see how different everyone’s grow set-ups can be!
I’ve also got a 3’ x 3’ tent with an Ebb & Flow for clones, early veg or for pollinating my favorite strains for seeds, but i usually move them to larger tents unless it’s just 2 plants for pollination.

Nice man! i wish i had space to pollinate. I was living in a 2 story condo so i had 4 tents and could experiment more, recently moved into a renovated garage at a family members house so i had to minimize but still grow enough to self supply and make a little extra on the side :bigjoint: the 2x3 footprint is perfect and i put a shelf above it to hold my SJ DP60 which used to be for propagation but now will be used as my drying tent, since ill only be harvesting 1 plant at a time (except for these initial 2) its perfect for a single layer 18inch drying rack.

How do you control the potent MJ aroma from your neighbors while growing weed in a condo? I live on a half acre & grow out of my basement & I still can’t contain the odor in mid to late flower! I must need a new carbon filters because when I run my portable A/C unit in my grow room, I can smell the Kush halfway down the block!

lol well as odd as it may sound i used a lung room to create a double filter extraction process, once air was drawn through the first filter (inside the tent) it would pump into an enclosed space within my attic which then went through another filter before going out the roof vent, the condo was owned by a family member so i was allowed to cut whatever holes needed etc. Also it was located in a "hood" area where it constantly smelled like pot anyway, guys sittin out on the porch smoking all the time.. even the cop that lived in the complex smoked  i always get reversable flange filters and reverse it after a year then replace the whole filter after another year. 30-50$ every 2 years vs getting caught cuz of smell.. no brainer lol

edit: if your noticing smell but think your filter is still within its lifetime then you may check to see if that portable a/c is causing a positive pressure effect in that room.. seems unlikely but i know positive pressure can sometimes get air moving through your filter too quickly to scrub it, on that same note make sure you simply dont have your fan cranked too high causing the same thing.

I actually use a similar setup. I’ve got vents fans & filters for each tent & then an additional one for the closet the tents are in. I think I must have bought some crappy carbon scrubbers on Amazon from IPOWER, but at least they’re reversible, so I’m gonna try that today. It’s funny because I buy a ton of shit on Amazon & the FedX driver, the UPS driver & anyone else who comes to my door can immediately smell I’m growing weed. I’ve gotta fix that!

lmao yea ive used the ipower ones before, i honestly cant say i ever notice a difference in filter brands.. i always just make sure to get a reversible flange one cuz thats where ive noticed the biggest difference as far as getting the most for your money.. natural order of airflow is the path of least resistance so the side with the ducting gets worn down first yada yada.. reversible flange just makes sure you get every bit of your moneys worth out of each filter. Currently im using a G-Hydro filter, they had an updated design using a hexagon pattern for the air passage rather than the standard circles, due to the fact that they can stamp hexagons closer together with less material left behind than with circles it increases not only the flow rate but also your surface area of scrubbing, and its reversible flange so i was like hell yea ill try it lol. lol between the 3 people living here (myself included) we get amazon/other packages almost daily, if the drivers ever smelled anything it i guarantee it was me after smoking, but never my plants. hell the laundry room is literally on the other side of the wall from my grow and the houses electrical panel is in there as well so i've had electricians and maytag service tech guys working on shit literally on the other side of the wall and they have no idea lol.

I’ll definitely reverse my flanges tomorrow & I stopped using the filters until the plants start to reek. I just use the vent fans & ducts.

you mean for like in veg? i never use a scrubber for my veg area but personally id make sure you run the filter through every week of flower just for safety, i know week 3 flowering plants may not stank like week 8+ but still why risk it? plus then your messing with the dialing-in of your setup, are you adjusting for proper air exchange when you unhook the filter?

I reversed my flanges this morning, but I got sidetracked halfway through one of the filters & have no idea if I reversed it or put it right back the way it was...and I wasn’t even high!

lol damn, well how old are they? maybe start replacing one at a time to get a clean slate to go off of. i keep a pocket sized journal ontop of the tent and record every little thing i do grow related because otherwise ill forget by tomorrow
