2 week old from seed

im a first time grower and I have been leeching off this site and others and decided to bite the bullet and attempt to grow my own medicine. im a Cali patient so I got a steady supply of shops around and more than a few with clones. but here is what I stumbled upon... I got some outdoor skunk and found a few seeds, 4 to be exact. so I said fuck it and germinated them in a paper towel. they germed and I put them in soil. im using Kellogg patio plus, the plant where they make it is actually about 5 min from my house. so I decided to try it without knowing nothing really about soil but seen all the amendments added. I put them in 3 different size pots as a experiment nd the one in the 98 cent 1 gallon pot did the best so far. I bought a Phillip's 75 watt agro-light and got them to start like that under my desk with a desk fan and timer set to 18-6. I started them with tap water and just sprayed them and I did the first watering on Monday when I got my mars hydro 2x2x5 tent kit with the 300 watt led panel. the tap water 8.0 ph. so I got it down to 6.0-6.5, I only got the drop kit to test the ph. but I just got the test kit and ph. up and down on Sunday. so I have been using the correct water since then. I noticed some little whit bugs in the soil and I showed the dude at gchydro a pic and he suggested go-gnats so I bought some of that. I put the plants in a tent with a 6 inch clip on fan, I don't have venting yet. im picking up 2 4 inch ipower duct fans tomorrow from amazon at usc. so I will hook those up. I have questions to ask to be able to pull this off. thanks in advance.

are my plants looking ok for 2 week from seed?
what would be the best way to vent this thing?
when should I start adding nutes?
is kellog any good?

here's my tent setup. the light is 18 in from the plants. yesterday there was like 5 gnats in the tent so I made a go-gnats drench and drenched the soil to kill these fuckers before they get out of hand, today there was like 2 flying around so tomorrow I will pick up some hanging traps. but that why the soView attachment 4036660 View attachment 4036660 il seems wet some.View attachment 4036660 View attachment 4036660

Cut the traps and put them flat on the soil.
Way more effective.
The soil looks very woody to me.

the soil is a little woody, its Kellogg patio plus. I just got 2 -4 inch duct fans and I want to put one for exhaust and one for intake. for the exhaust I got an elbow duct to support it. what would be the best way to setup the fans. I got my temp and humidity gauge today. right now the temp is 82* and humidity is 47*. I think with the exhaust it should go down. by the way I got a la crosse wireless weather station. I think its a decent one. any and all help appreciated. good lookin out on the tip drsaltzman!

You may be over watering a bit. Gnat's love and need wet top soil.

They seedlings look like they are seeking light a little.

As far as Kellogg's go search the forums, a few threads on this.

Exhaust. Cool air in the bottom, exhaust out the top.

S bends in pipes stops light leaks. Small room will maybe heat up some from exhaust and cause intake air to warn up as well maybe, light dependent

Air Filter on intake to control dust. Carbon filter on exhaust for odor inside tent.

rH will probably be low constantly with vent running.

Fan noise can be lessened by rapping the c fan with a towel and even more with a air duct muffler.

Fan inside creating indirect gentle air flow across canopy.

rH/temp sensor mounted high in tent out of direct light.

sweet! thanks for the info! ok I just put my temp sensor at the top of the tent and the temp dropped from 80*
to 78* with 45% humidity. with just an exhaust fan at the top and a 6 inch clip fan inside the tent. is this ideal for now? I read I can hold up on the big 4 inch intake fan and carbon filter until I get to flower, is this true? cx2h thanks for the tips, much appreciated.

You should be good for now.

Home depot is pretty cheap for 4" aluminum ducting too.

Use some sunglasses too, that block UV light. Grow lights in general are horrible for unprotected eyes LEDs especially.

I got some 4 inch ducting today. should I add some? about the glasses, im going to get a pair but its going to be funny, I wear glasses!! hahaha!! how much ducting should I get?

If you are vegging right now you should be good.

they are vegging, actually 2 weeks old from seedling yesterday! is this considered veg of seedling? sorry if that sounds not to bright. im just trying to get to know the plants and familiarize myself with the growth cycles. thanks for all the help and fast response.

I would call it a seedling until node 2-3 of true leaf growth. It is in vegetation growth cycle.

little update. my tent is staying at a constant 79-80* and 49-52% humidity with lights on. last night I woke up 3 times during the night and temps were 72-74* with humidity at 52-55%. im going to get a humidifier tomorrow. but I have not put the tent in the closet yet, im going to take everything out of the closet and clean it with simple green. should I use something with less of a smell? I replanted the runt that was in the biggest container which was a 6 inch pot and put in a large carls jr cup that I cut in half. im hoping that this will help with growth. I drenched the soil on Tuesday with go-gnats and the soil was very moist in the big pot but I didn't see ant of the little white bugs that I was seeing. I replanted and checked the runoff from the new container and it was at what looked like about 7.0 and I checked the ph. of the water I had sitting out that was ph'd Monday and that was at what looked like 6.0 yellowish color not quite 6.5 though. im going to order a digital ph. meter and a ppm meters so that I don't have to rely on the color chart method. any suggestions as to where the humidity should be? or what I might be doing wrong because the seem a little small for almost 21 days from popping out of soil. I put a little dome to help the roots a little, good or bad?? good looking out !

Domes are used to root clones not seedlings.

ok I got some issues. it seems like my plants are not growing much since putting them in tent. I think my soil is still a little moist after the gognats drench. that was the last time they were watered. the directions for the gognats says to do it twice in a week but I don't want to stunt these girls growth any more. my light is about 18 inches from the plant. I just got my closet about 90% clean. im going to put a few things away and sani the rest tomorrow. my temps are staying at 79-80 and my humidity is at about 49-52% but today sprayed water on the walls and it was going into the 61-63% range so I did that throughout the day and kept humi up that way. will my humidity go up if its in a closet? im hoping it goes into range or close to it. I know I should be in the 60-70% range during veg and in the livingroom right now its staying at 50% range. im going to add 4 in duct fan for intake tomorrow, right now all I have going is the 4in exhaust duct for now. any insight as to why the plants a growing slow or ideas about the tent in the closet. im going to put a video up of the closet. feel free to chime in!

on the plus side though, I think the gognats worked the fly trap has quite a few dead 1s on it. and when I transferred the runt to the cup last night the soil seemed healthy, that's just my guess though.

Yeah a couple are pretty lanky from what ever light you had on them before. 18" now should be good. Slow growth could be from no food at this point. Soil nutrient depletion is around 3-5 weeks for most bags. Gnat's only go couple inches deep if that.

That Kellogg's sheet is not aerated good. I forgot I had some house plants in it. Had to toss a couple and looked a soil and root growth of said plant and it was pretty bad. Roots were not happy in it.

Home depot has black magic soil try that one day, like 14 a bag or ace has happy frog, ocean forest.

HD also has big azz bags of perlite cheap to mix in soils like that Kellogg's.

right on my brother! thanks for coming through again! im going to pick up some ocean forest and perlite, im going to try and save these though. I put a lot of time in these girls so im going to try and bring them to life, until they show sex!! hahaha! but im going to pick up a couple of clones also so if I can save one of these babies I think 3 plants will be good for a first grow. should I be able to fill 3- 3gal pots with one bag and one bag of perlite? thanks again homie!

@Lite I got the light down a couple of inches and see where they go. I just checked one of them out and I can see some new growth coming in! I think I just over drenched with the gognats, because the 1gal pot is still on the heavy side but the smaller 1 in the green pot is looking to be growing some.
