Hey everyone,

first time grower here. I'll try to keep it to the point, I have a 600w hps set up ventilated with a fan/carbon filter. 2 small fans for air circulation also. Tent size is about 3x3x6.5 temps hover around 40% humidity and 80 Fahrenheit. Using FF ocean soil mixed with at least 1/4 perlite. Take a look and let me know if any problems immediately stand out to you. 1-1.5 gal pots rn soon will upgrade to 4 gallon unless any objections. I plan on topping and using SCROG. not all strains the same either, 1 or 2 are different. 5 in total. 6th got separated from roots early on and is recovering but very small, no picture shown.

took pics with light ON let me know if you really need to see with light off.

Thanks everyone very reassuring. I'll try my best to keep updated and water less. I was going to top the 5th internodes and then LST

They look ok, nice growth. I wouldn't spray them anymore, def not with lights on. And maybe let the soil dry a bit more between watering.
OK I won't spray them anymore, also I had them on 18/6 cycle at first before switching to full 24 hr for convenience. I know this has no extra effect its purely for convenience to me, is it really crucial to give a night time at this stage?

Some will say yes, Some will say no, You have to find a niche that works for you and improve it.

IMHO... Keep them on 18/6. I have always notice substantial daily growth on rested plants after the first 4 weeks of establishment. You Should be able to notice it now?! slide a ruler down the outside edge of the soil and pot and watch it just as lights go off then come back on.... it shoots up a bit :) The only time I use 24hr is to keep the soil warm for seedlings , as soon as they sprout and find the surface.... then its 18/6 till flower. I also find it ease's the transition into the 12/12 schedule. I also use an 18/6 schedule for my clones which i find gives them time to focus solely on root development

EDIT: Also, put a couple trays of water in there to up your humidity by 10-15%. Maybe water with 1/4 strength nitrogen over the next couple weeks till you start your veg nutes.

The only time I go 24 hrs is first week or two. I only do it in the winter when nights are colder as well. Not much difference in growth.

When the lights go out, I can see the leaves loosen up a bit, ya know? maybe I'm losing it lol

Great advice and thanks!

Main problem with humidity is the 8inch fan I have sucks out the humidity too fast and leaving it off causes the heat to rise too high. The humidifiers I have in the tent more than make enough humidity. Still trying to figure out how to make this work any suggestions?

I've found that when scroging, you want to use one strain only because different strains finish at different times and they have different nutrient needs

Yes, if you mean that its closed and the duct runs through it as well, for air cooling
8" fan in a 3x3 is way overkill, didn't notice..... only thing i can say is turn down ur fan, and maybe run a single fan on ur hood cooling ur hood with outside air, reather then pulling from the tent to cool them. would mean less air pulling from tent to cool hoods.

got a pic of the whole setup?

edit my scrog is 5 different strains..... wont do it again....

Makes enough sense to me thank you. I can already tell some are growing differently and this may be more challenging
Don't feel any pressure by other peoples methods, if we stick by what we say then it just means we found our method and can swear by it.
It took me two years before I could produce what I thought was talk-able (and hell of a lot of clones wasted).
Everything we know now has been passed onto us somehow. we pick out little pieces here and there and add it to our regime to see if it improves, if not remove it.

The Best Way To Look At It:

Your breeding the best hybrid of growth regimes to produce your optimal output with what you have available..Knowledge!!.

Now That's Evolution :)

Full image pic with light off to limit distortion (other light on just for picture to illuminate).

scrog net is just stored at that height it wont sit there during use lol.
carbon filter is literally enormous, and humidifiers look very close to plants but trust me they're a good foot or more away.
I also regularly clean and maintain the tent to prevent any nasty buildups of any kind but i DO NOT do this for the run off trays, is that ok or can bad stuff (mold, etc) develop there too?

and im referencing the collective of all human knowledge ( the internet) to 'evolve' and 'adapt' my existing skill set. We humans are impressive! lol

nope I can absolutely confirm this happened to my girls as well! loosened up within minutes of light off
