250 Blue Cfl //// 150 HPS - single fem'd SLH

y hallo thar RIU, finished my first go about a month ago, ended with 1.5oz using about 180 watts of cfl. The seeds were definitely from some schwag, but these seeds are gonna be dank! I did it openly in my closet, but the smell ruined my room, so this time I turned my drawers into a grow cab so i can control air flow. Dimensions of said cab 17x32x36in (WxLxH)

I will be using a

-250 watt blue spectrum vegging
-150 watt HPS flowering\
-MG African Violet Soil
-For nutes Schultz 8-14-9 African Violet Plus
-Who knows, i may make a CO2 thingy if I have room
-Gonna LST the hell outta the bitch
-Clones, maybe 1 or 2


Had the girl during her first day out of the soil, her seed still acting has a helmet, in my cab, but I checked on it a bit later and it was completely on the ground. I moved it to my old spot, but I'm pretty sure it was because the lack of water. The major thing I am lacking in the cab is air movement. The exhaust is taking air out, but not really moving it around in the bot half of the cab. The girl recovered 100% and is sticking straight of the ground 2-3". I'm using a 42 watt 6500k and 23 watt 2500k till she can fully utilize the mammoth of the 250 watt.

Sooo yeah, that whole are is gonna be a fucking wall of bud by the time I'm done..

It isn't a good idea to go from more light in veg to less light in flower...
It should be the other way around, you want more light in flower that is the most important part of the grow

Ahhh got an active exhaust running off a 5v phone charger, I don't think its moving fast enough,,, I got a 12v but it doesnt seem to work. Gonna get some more chargers to see if I can get a more powerful one. The intake is just the hole with the wires in it, think it wont be enough?

If you have a couple of computer fans used for exhaust you can have a passive intake of air... maybe cut a couple of holes in the bottom and put some PVC pipe elbows in em so you don't have light leaks... just a suggestion.

Woah woah, so if i switch from a 250 Watt CFL to a 150 Watt HPS, how does that work??? More lumens from the HPS... bah i meant when you said i'd have less light although theres more lumens...

You are going to have less than 4000 more lumens during flower if you only use the HPS... not much of a difference at all
It is the same as you adding a 42w CFL to your 250w CFL...
I would use both the 250w CFL and the 150w HPS during flower

lookin good as ever. I plan on tossing in a few 26 and 42 watt cfls in the dresser w/ the hps, but i think im gonna keep the 250 out and use it for several veggings...

Day 11, it has been under the 250 watt for 1 day now, first pair of main branches is coming out.

Your little one is looking very nice. How long are you planning on vegging for? Check my grow out, just started it on day 2-only a few days behind ya .

Ahhh will do 55b, I'll probably flower it on day 16-20, I'm having complications with ordering my 150 watt from htg due to a common mistake with the credit card company >_>

Yorban your girl is so much bigger then my flower. At days 6 yours is bigger and more grown it looks like. I got some catch'un up to do.

Hello hello, watered the girl with 2.25 quarts of water + 1/7th nutes and topped at the fifth node 2 days ago. I've also built a shoddy version of the carbon filter from the diy walmart one. I also bought a better hydro+thermometer, looks like its about 81F. As far as flowering is concerned I still haven't been able to purchase my hps because of visa problems... so I'll probably flower a week or 2 with the 250 watt + 3-4 26 watt 2500k CFLs. May start on the 21st day or a bit later.

When I open my doors to cab the thermo says like 92F, how is that possible? if thats true its been that hot since I put it in the cab

Mine has 2 exhaust fans and can still get up over 100.

Wowowow, I just added another fan this one with a 12v, I'll probably make it another exhaust, and I'll get an intake for my next fan

Just lsted, gonna start flowering tomorrow.
