250 watt hps for $90?

I'm looking to upgrade from CFLs and was wondering if this is a good price. It seems to be the full system minus the bulb http://www.amazon.com/250-HPS-Compa...8&qid=1390734395&sr=1-1&keywords=250+watt+hps . It's only $56 but with shipping it'll add up to $90 for some dumb ass reason. Even still though I'm having a hard time finding one cheaper so I guess my question is is this a good deal or am I looking in all the wrong places?


Thank you guys. I think I'm just going to go with the 400 watt since it's only like $30 more and has both bulbs.

I have a 400 250 Sunsystems (runs both) it was 200 bucks but I consider it worth it both does mh and hps.

Can only speak for myself but my apollo digital dimmable 600 has been running for a couple years nonstop without fail and theres more than a few great deal on combos from amazon

I just bought a 600 watt hps on craigslist for 90 bucks. The reflector was shit ( old wing style) but it was the ballast and bulb I was after as I have a couple extra hoods anyway.

If you just want a smaller setup get the 250, I started with a 250 and it did a decent job for my needs at the time. Is it an actual grow lamp, or is it just a run of the mill 250 watt ballast? If it's the latter I would keep looking.
