250w hps scrog big Buddhas cheese

Ok so I soaked 5 seeds in tissue today this being my second grow. the little ladyz will spend their lives in a 1200x1200x2000 grow tent under a 250w hps lamp in a hydro garden nft system. i will be using a canna hydro nute pack. i have a 4" extractor and carbon filter and a 4" inlet fan will be using an oscilating fan to move air around. my first grow i used the same set up but with a 350w dual cfl and grew autos 2 big buddha critical mass and a samsara flash, things went a bit strange and i cropped in the 12th week 3 weeks longer that expected plus they grew to abou 1.4 m tall.
i have also decided to try the scrog method this time as a friend grows a cheese strain 2 plants 6 week veg and gets 16 oz dry weight so i constructed the frame with 2x2 timber and some 3ft fencing from my local hardwear shop.
will get some pics of my set up on soon

heres a couple of pics of my grow room.
my seeds have only been in wet tissue 24 hrs and 3 have popped open fingers crossed

Hi resinous flowers welcome, as I say this is my second grow but fingers crossed.
Well it's now 48 hrs and all five seed cases have now opened. :-)
question is do I still grow 3 as planned or just put all 5 in but only veg for 3 weeks?
Will see how they're looking tomorrow and maybe put them in small rockwool cubes.

Put seeds in rockwool cubes now they are in a glass oven dish with cling film on the top and in my tv unit cupboard, nice and warm in there.

Hi DSB65, yes frames look similar Nice job on the grow room. Well today 2 of my little lady's have started to raise there heads and can just see the 3rd.

all 5 have now fully emerged been nice and sunny today so let them have a bit of natural light. 3 are showing roots at the bottom of the rockwook so will put them into the bigger cubes tomorrow and into my grow tent in a heated propagator. when roots show at the bottom of the larger rockwool i will move them to the nft system. i will grow using a 16/8 light cycle during veg then 12/12 for flowering.

Heres some info on nft from wiki
Nutrient Film Technique or NFT is a hydroponic technique wherein a very shallow stream of water containing all the dissolved nutrients required for plant growth is re-circulated past the bare roots of plants in a watertight gully, also known as channels. In an ideal system, the depth of the recirculating stream should be very shallow, little more than a film of water, hence the name 'nutrient film'. This ensures that the thick root mat, which develops in the bottom of the channel, has an upper surface, which, although moist, is in the air. Subsequent to this, an abundant supply of oxygen is provided to the roots of the plants. A properly designed NFT system is based on using the right channel slope, the right flow rate, and the right channel length. The main advantage of the NFT system over other forms of hydroponics is that the plant roots are exposed to adequate supplies of water, oxygen and nutrients. In all other forms of production, there is a conflict between the supply of these requirements, since excessive or deficient amounts of one results in an imbalance of one or both of the others. NFT, because of its design, provides a system wherein all three requirements for healthy plant growth can be met at the same time, provided that the simple concept of NFT is always remembered and practiced. The result of these advantages is that higher yields of high-quality produce are obtained over an extended period of cropping. A downside of NFT is that it has very little buffering against interruptions in the flow, e.g., power outages, but, overall, it is one of the more productive techniques.
The same design characteristics apply to all conventional NFT systems. While slopes along channels of 1:100 have been recommended, in practice it is difficult to build a base for channels that is sufficiently true to enable nutrient films to flow without ponding in locally depressed areas. As a consequence, it is recommended that slopes of 1:30 to 1:40 be used. This allows for minor irregularities in the surface, but, even with these slopes, ponding and water logging may occur. The slope may be provided by the floor, or benches or racks may hold the channels and provide the required slope. Both methods are used and depend on local requirements, often determined by the site and crop requirements.
As a general guide, flow rates for each gully should be 1 litre per minute. At planting, rates may be half this, and the upper limit of 2L/min appears about the maximum. Flow rates beyond these extremes are often associated with nutritional problems. Depressed growth rates of many crops have been observed when channels exceed 12 metres in length. On rapidly growing crops, tests have indicated that, while oxygen levels remain adequate, nitrogen may be depleted over the length of the gully. As a consequence, channel length should not exceed 10–15 metres. In situations where this is not possible, the reductions in growth can be eliminated by placing another nutrient feed halfway along the gully and reducing flow rates to 1L/min through each outlet.

subbed, i would love to set up a hydro system similar to yours but i just dont have the dosh.
i bet these girls will be looking good and tasty in a few months, mine are starting to look good now but there is still a way to go yet..
oh and thanks for checking out my grow, how did your first grow turn out? well im guessing?
x

Hi thek3n I got about 4 oz ish but autos don't yield big so was good for them. My complete setup cost me about £250 all new from ebay. So made that back twice over on one grow the price of bud nowadays it's criminal. Lol
