Thought I'd have a little fun since I have a bit of space on both sides of my tent. I have two clippings from the same mother, that are exactly the same age, and practically the same size/growth in veg. Just threw them in tonight...see which one finishes stronger under which light. (plants are on the bottom left/right of the picture)

On the left is a 280W Apollo8 re-branded light, from a local canadian dealer, and the right is my new A51 XGS190, which I'm pretty interested in testing out.

Strain is a pheno of Mr. Nice/CBD Crew's Z7, a limited edition strain that spits CBD-rich phenos in different ratios. Its not a heavy yielding strain, but has the 1:1 THC:CBD ratio I prefer, and is full of flavour/smell.

What does the 280 draw?

Would be a interesting comparison. Isn't Apollo like a kind? Just say that since kind led does seem to put up some big par numbers on the growershouse site.

The 280 draws 280W. I don't refer to a LED by its conflated marketing numbers.

And I cant say if the Kind is the same beast under the hood. I suspect so, but I don't own a Kind light.

I've had the Apollo for almost a year now, and its grown some dankity dank.

This is my first run with the XGS, but I've seen a few great results from it on here...so I have high expectations for the light.

Running apollos also (280) for the last year same...coincidence that i want to purchase these XGS also..plz keep this shit going dude..much appreciated...
also where the hell did you find the XGS? cant find em available for purchase from the company or ebay? :-?

A51 happened to have stock of them a month or so ago, when I ordered. Now that they're out...again...glad I jumped on one when I did.

I noticed last night when I was doing some plant maintenance, how much nicer the white cast from the XGS is, compared to the Apollo's purplish hues. When dealing with plants in the tent, its easier to work around the white. Much easier when trying to look at trichomes under a loupe, or take pictures, too.

Im still trying to understand this white hue concept...I dunno if i understand it too well..been reading too many cross references http://www.ledgrowlightshq.co.uk/white-leds/

but I still see them in known top line led manufacturers and some grow rooms being successful
but whatever..I just want what does the most damage (good damage that is)

Thanks for doing this side by side. Please keep the pics coming. I ordered my xgs 190 even though it was out of stock and got it two and a half weeks later. Was thinking of adding a color panel or even another xgs but waiting to see more results.

Meh, they're sharing a bit, but I'm not going to get fussed over it, too much. this is not supposed to be scientific, in any way. I'm usually putting party cups in the middle between the two lights, so they'll take up most of the between lights.

The ones on the back left are a pair of lanky Hash Plants. Nice strain, but really fooks up my canopy, compared to the other strains, which all stay relatively even, most of the time. The pair stretched like hell, so quickly.
