I'm startin up a journal type thing so's maybe someone else can learn from my mistakes...or learn me from my own mistakes : P
PEACE to all the growers out there...and RESPECK...never know...maybe we crossed paths or toked each others herbs before lol...
ok so I got a Silver Hut 2.5 x 4.5 x 6.5 ft tent...a couple Hydroponics Hut 260W lamps hangin...a Can filter 9000 attached directly flange to flange to a 4.5" axial fan i countersink'd and superglue'd flanges to...we're airtight BABY !! :D
What else...shouldn't do this when I'm superb@ked...
I'm growing in some random soil I got from the local nursery...found some organic fertilizer & ordered some GH Biothrive grow & bloom...oh and a 1/2 ounce of superthrive...i see mixed opinions about it but thought i might try a drop in my water once and see how the little sluts react to it...
ummmm i'm growing in 8 12"x12"x12" pots...and it works out to roughly a sq meter...so i'm curious how my yield will stack up to the notion that a pound per sq meter is acceptable?? dunno...i've only grow a couple plants outdoor before.
I have an 8" vent open that gets good suction...if i sit and blow smoke in it's vicinity it does a good job of pulling the smoke into the tent...and the 114 CFM cheapo axial fan I got seems to do a good job of sanitizing the air in my room despite heavy vaporizer toking and some juniorish plants growing...
am thinking about grabbing a S&P 100x and a second smaller filter than the 9000 in case i run into odour problems. put the S&P with the can 9000 and run an internal scrubber, and use the axial with another cheapo carbon scrubber for exhaust??? Good idea? Bad idea?
Ok...so some pics snapped tonite...finished putting up my filter and fan and that's about the finishing touch...until i figure i need to fix something.
Oh...a note...the lights (Hydro Huts) and my cheapo axial fan are noisy...not stealth at all...in future setups I'm going for some Haight Solids or maybe trial Hydro Huts plasma bulbs en masse...tempting.
My ultimate goal is to get the grow as silent and odour free as possible, while still maintaining my wallet's integrity...and have it be something easily clone-able...
ie~if one tent in a spare room is nice why not six tents and a growbot remote control system hahaha...ok i'm dreaming for now...
oh yeah...the plants are about a month old now?? i've been beating the shit outta them thru overwatering and other stupidness novice grower type shit...i have one mutant seed (oh yeah they're all from seed) that is either a seed i brought back from Jamaica or one in some bud from canadian west coast...hard to tell what it is...it's just dark and bigger than the rest.
I bent the little lesbians (all femm'd seeds) over with some wire coat hangers I chopped in half...seems to work ok. gonna see how bushy they want to get and if i can make a canopy similar to a ScrOG setup.

~PEACE =D

Tent zips up nice & snug in me closet...
then all tucks in nice & snug and all stealth...
except for my exhaust fan noise & the noise from my hydro hut lights...
this cheapo fan sucks enough air thru the 9000 that it pulls my smoke into it if i sit beside it...we'll see if it does the trick thru flowering...haha prolly not...gonna replace it with an S&P or something...maybe a japanasonic whisper??
anyone's thoughts on the matter?
anyone want to weight in on the best silent/heatless (or closest to) lights out there?? power is a concern of course but i want it stealth so it can live in a closet until the next ice ace. or 2012. w/e~!
i keep thinking that the hss led's or maybe hydro huts 45w plasma bulbs might be my best $/watt combined with the most silent/heatless/easy on power...the green babies seem to love the hydro hut lights...i might crack them open and see if i can respec the fans to something quiter...i think there are three fans inside...they all seem to run regardless of whether the blue/red/both modes are on. if they could tone down a bit they'd be the best $/watt for LEDs...and they have 3w diodes in them so they hump the plants with a decent amount of energy it seems...
duno...
see how it goes

PEACE out & RESPECK !!
