Hey guys,
Have you ever went to take some clones and not wanted to cut off them precious tops but the lower nodes were not long enough yet to take a decent cutting from? Well i just wanted to explain to you guys that you can actually get 3-4 clones per branch and you dont need long nodes for this to work.
Here is a pic of a lower branch that would be ideal for using in cloning since we all know the lower branches are the least producing ones. This image has a branch that will make 3 viable clones. you can see where i marked the red lines is where you should cut. each of these cuts will root and produce new nodal growth.
here is a image of a clone that i took in this manner and is currently vegging.
This isnt much of a tutorial i know but i just wanted to share a experiment i had done. I had a plant that didnt have much growth i wanted to cut for your traditional clone so i tried this method and it seems to work really well. if a plant is big enough traditional cloning techniques are probabally better and thats where you take a node that is growing off of a node that is long enough. Or the tip of a lower node, such as the one in the pic above. traditional cloning you would cut the above node at either the first or second cut mark and produce 1 clone. then do that again to another branch. I feel that this method lets you utilize more of the branch and get more clones.
now heres my disclaimer. I am fairly new to this whole cloning thing and have been doing it for around a year with some sucess sometimes and less sucess others, i am in no way a professional at this. I am just sharing some findings that i got while experimenting in hopes to possible help some others that run into a similar issue.
and happy growing guys

Edit: next time i go to my grow room i will try and get some more detailed pics the above photo's were what i could find for right now. I am also going to reserve the next couple of posts in case i would like to add anything to the front of the thread.
All comments are appreciated but lets keep it on a civil level please.
