3 days after began curing, 55% humidity, emergency evacuation, can I leave jars closed?

Hi
I have an emergency curing question.
I have two large glass jars, each with about 150 grams in them
The buds were dried for 7-8 days, and then jarred once their stems easily snapped.
They have been in the jars for four days, being burped for a few seconds, twice a days.
The hydrometer in the jars reads between 54-56%, usually around 55%.
due to an emergency situation, we needed to leave our home for an unknown period of time, and I’d rather not drive around with so much herb unless I need to.
-how do I know when it’s ok to leave the jars sealed? Or should I take them with me and continue opening once a day to be safe?
- alternatively I could leave them in the jar slightly cracked open unsealed to be safe.
- btw, is just opening the jar for one minute considered burping? I open it and tip the jar to make sure all the buds can move around and aren’t stuck together, then close it

I’m assuming that since the humidity levels are average 55, that perhaps I jarred them a day or two too late? They were hung dry on stems after a wet trim for 7- 8 days with no fans on them. And jarred as soon as the stems snapped easily. So I’m not sure how the humidity level is already at 55%.

Take them with you and eliminate the risk of coming back to moldy buds.

Sounds like you got them nicely dried though so if you have to leave them they should be ok.

Yeah, it's unfortunate to have such an emergency when it's the most crucial time of all to create absolutely perfect conditions. The only proper way to cure the buds is to create a 60/60 environment with slight air movement and allow the plants to hang dry for 14 or more days in those conditions. You literally have to make the room, itself, into a curing jar. After at least two weeks of hang drying, the plants will go into the jars to allow the remaining moisture to equalize throughout the buds. If you've done it properly, and allowing for a little ambient moisture loss, then the buds will remain (ideally) at ~58% RH in the jars. After that, smoke away or take them out of the jars and vacuum seal them and keep them in the freezer for long-term storage.

You couldn't have achieved 55% RH in the jars with 150 grams of material after 7-8 days unless your drying room was too dry and air movement too strong -in which case, you messed up the hang drying phase and there isn't much you can do to correct it retroactively.

OR, you're not getting a proper reading on the hygrometer. That's a lot of bud in a jar to be that dry after such a short amount of time.

ALWAYS count on "Murphy's Law" and act accordingly to avoid the associated problems. NEVER EVER cut corners on drying -especially if you know the buds are of good genetics and were grown correctly and harvested at the right time. Everything can be ruined in the drying phase.
