Fight, I only have a few crops under my belt myself, but I can tell you this. Growing in soil, I have grown with both seeds and clones. It is not unusual for a plant to appear to just sit there for several weeks while it builds a root system. Happens to me all the time. Once the roots are established, they'll take off. You'll see :) I figure there are triggers in the plant that prevent it growing up too much before there are roots to support it, otherwise the wind (if there were wind) would topple them.

IMO, a one gallon bucket is a bit confining; you should not expect these plants to get very big. They can veg under flouro but they won't likely get very big. They will tend to be leggy, stretching for more lumens.

how many t12's? what kind of bulbs and fixtures? also, what kind of soil? did you dig it out of the yard? just buy a bag of topsoil at the hardware store? or did you buy a potting soil? If it's just dirt or topsoil it will be too compact and not enough nutrients to grow well.

you need more light. I use 8 32W t8's in fixtures that have "chrome" plated reflectors to reflect as much light as possible. Veg for about a month then I switch to MH if I need more height. One fixture will get you thru the first week or so, then you need more. Miracle grow soil is good. your biggest problem is the weak light. You don't want "warm" whites, they are more yellow and not very useful for vegging. You want "daylight" bulbs. Look for bulbs with a temp of 6500K for vegging and get more lights.
